I am married to the former Missy Wood and we are the proud parents of five awesome children, ranging in age from college to fourth grade in elementary school. We also have two small dogs with big attitude - Magneto and Teddy. Missy and I both grew up in Orem and are products of Alpine School District. We have lived in Lehi for the past five years. We enjoy boating and following our kids around to various swim, soccer, basketball, baseball, and lacrosse activities.
My parents, Dr. Damon and Kim Bahr, are educators and retired from Alpine School District. They instilled in me a profound respect for the value that quality education brings to individuals and communities.
I am the Chief Financial Officer for the Salt Lake City Public Library - a public entity with many structures, funding mechanisms and reporting requirements similar to those of a school district. Previously, I worked for Highland City and the City of San Antonio in finance and special project roles, as well as Zions Bank and Family First Federal Credit Union. My 25+ years of experience in finance, including the public sector, makes me uniquely qualified to represent our community on the school board.
Following graduation from Mountain View High School in Orem (GO BRUINS!), I received a bachelor's degree from BYU and a master's degree in public administration from the University of Utah. I hold a black belt certification in Disruptive Lean Six Sigma.Â
