My name is Taylor Yates and I am a recent Exercise Science latin honors graduate from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. I am originally from Knoxville, TN but have fallen in love with Chattanooga and now call this city my home. I work part-time as an assistant teacher at Nolan Elementary on Signal Mountain, TN and have been there for over two years. I was a member of Delta Zeta Pi Lambda for all four years of my undergraduate degree. During my membership, I also served as Vice President of Membership to over one hundred and twenty women. During my service as Vice President, I helped UTC's Greek life navigate the pandemic and held my sorority accountable to COVID-19 guidelines. I have also been interning for the Livestrong program at the YMCA since February. I have recently been accepted to UTC's Master of Public health program and I will begin in the fall of 2021. My hobbies consist of journaling, reading, and spending time with loved ones. I am very interested in furthering my education and pursuing all of my passions. Public Health is a topic I have an undiluted passion for, and I could not be more honored to have the opportunity to learn from integral public health officials this fall. In the future, I hope to conduct research and adapt legislation to make Chattanooga a healthier city. I am also hopeful that I will be accepted into a doctoral program and possibly return to UTC to become a professor in the future.
