What is your impression of the Educational Technology Field?
My impression on the field of Educational Technology is that it is an ever-changing and ever-growing industry. Educational Technology deals with any form of online or virtual-based learning environments. As our world is changing, Educational Technology is continuing to thrive and expand. What began as tele-communicational courses has grown into a variety of learning environments and has recently expanded into Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Gamified Learning, and beyond. As I expand upon my pre-course reflection, I am excited to see what is to come in the world of Educational Technology, and I am looking forward to dipping my foot into the water of the world of possibilities that could come with Ed Tech advancements.
What did you learn in this course and how do you plan to apply this knowledge or skills to advance your future learning or professional activities?
Throughout this course, I dived into the idea of Education in a Changing Society. This concept deals primarily with the fact that students and educators will continue to have to leverage new ideas and concepts with tried-and-true staples within the world of Instructional Design specifically. I completed this course in tandem with an internship in the field of Instructional Design. Throughout these two experiences, I learned many of the "best practices" for ID, and my experience in the field allowed me to apply these practical steps in a real-world setting. Ultimately, many of the concepts that were dealt with within this course will benefit me greatly as I continue my work in the Educational Technology field.
