As a long-term substitute teacher, I have adapted to many different roles during the 22/23 school year. I began the school year teaching 3rd grade from August 24th to November 18th. I then taught 5th grade from November 28th to 13th. My current position is teaching Tk-2nd moderate/intensive SPED. I enjoyed my time in all positions and valued this experience to grow as an educator. Being a new teacher this experience of teaching six grade in one year was eye opening and allows me to have experiences that will aid me for the duration of my career.

Monte Vista Elementary Student Teacher, Santa Barbara (full time collaboration)

As an aspiring teacher, I was tasked with student teaching for a 12-week period. During this time, I worked one on one with students in a kindergarten class and was in constant collaboration with my host teacher. I worked on creating fun and challenging lesson plans related to California’s common core standards. In this position I learned how to differentiate instruction, create engaging learning environments, and assess students' needs and strengths. This experience solidified my career choice to be an educator.

I work as a server for a small upscale restaurant on weekends and some week nights. I ensure customers are well taken care of and am tentative to their needs. I balanced this job with my student teaching position well and communicated with my employers to avoid miscommunications or scheduling overlaps.
