Artist Statement
Taylor Hurd is a songwriter who leads with the heart. Rather than chasing genre, her music follows emotion - angry moments may lean towards rock, softer ones drift toward indie or folk, but the through line is always honesty. Each song begins with a feeling she can’t quite name, and then they are built from chords outward until the language catches up to the emotion. “I really have a passion for the lyrics, but music feels like a vehicle for my lyrics,” she explained. Taylor is now a 21-year-old Songwriting major with a concentration in performance at Berklee College of Music. Berklee represented a leap into community, into artistry, and into a life centered fully around music. While she initially envisioned success as solely being an artist, her time there has expanded her dreams to include co-writing and being present in a writing room to create for others.
Onstage, Taylor comes fully alive. Writing is where she shapes the story; performing is where she tells it. Live, her songs feel raw like an exposed vein rather than a polished product. Her performances invite listeners into a shared emotional space where sadness isn’t something to apologize for, and big feelings are welcome. She strives for a close connection with her audience and treats each song like a conversation with a best friend or a therapist.
Taylor Hurd is an artist for listeners who crave sincerity in a crowded, manufactured landscape. She isn’t chasing trends or marketability. She’s offering truth. As she continues to sink deeper into her craft, her work promises to grow in both nuance and impact. Taylor’s music invites the listener to stay for those willing to feel deeply.
