RealInterpolants

In section 5 of "Necklaces count polynomial parametrized osculants", we investigated the number of real (d_1,d_2)-interpolants of planar curves.

This page provides up-to-date computations. The row index tells you how many instances found 2(row #)+(#solutions mod(2)) real solutions.

For example, after a total of 12964+405142+30358 computations (each computing the five (3,4)-interpolants of a random curve in the plane), we had

• 12964 computations which found 0+1=1 real solution,
• 405142 which found 2+1=3 real solutions, and
• 30358 computations which found that all five interpolants were real.
