Taylor University Art Department is pleased to offer art classes to Grant County and the surrounding areas from March 2nd-May 1st.  A variety of classes eight-week classes will be offered to children ages five through 18 years old.  Different materials and themes will be introduced by Art Department students. Please see the schedule of classes below for this semester's offerings.

Kindergarten-2nd grade: Ages 5-7

Printmaking: Tuesday 4:30-5:30pm Cost: 100.00

Students will use a variety of printmaking techniques to create their own work! Printmaking is messy and fun!

Watercolor painting: Friday 3:00-4pm Cost: 100.00

Students will explore the fluid medium of ink and watercolor. Students will learn technical and exploratory approaches to using the material to paint a variety of subject matters.

3rd-5th grade: Ages 8-10

Painting: Monday 5:00-6:00pm Cost: 100.00

Students will utlize different paints to explore a variety of subject matters. Both traditional and inventive approaches to painting will be explored!

Spots available: 4    

Fibers:Crochet and Knitting Thursday 4:30-5:30pm Cost: 100.00

Students will learn how to crochet and knit. Skill levels of all levels welcome!

6th-8th grade: Ages 11-13

Destress with Art: Wednesday 4:30-5:30 pm Cost: 100.00

Students will use a variety of art forms including collaging, painting and drawing to relieve stress. Any middle schooler interested in a new way of thinking is invited!

9th-12th grade: Ages 14-18

Handbuilt Ceramics: Thursday 4:00-5:00 pm Cost: 100.00

Students will utilize different ceramic techniques to create their own creative and functional creations. Works will be finished with glazing and painting finishes.

If you are interested in having your child/children participate, please complete the forms.  The classes are purchased in a nonrefundable eight-week block for 100.00.  This cost includes the materials. In case of sickness or unexpected scheduling challenges one make-up date will be provided by the Taylor Art Tutor.   Payment and these forms must be received before classes can begin on March 4th.
