Eric Taylor was the second youngest of four siblings, Lenard, Kathlene, Eric and Joyce

Sent to wales as an evacuee, and loved it there.

survived V1 doodlebug attack at lift company where he worked

Joined Royal navy at 17 in 1946, reaching rank of petty Officer, served 9 years

Joined Metropolitan Police, served over 20 Years for The port Of London Authority

and took early retirement due to the docks closing down

This photo of Eric was found in the Royal Albert Docks and was sent on to him.

While off duty in 1977, he went to the aid of a uniformed policeman being attacked in Croydon, injuring his knee in the process that required surgery. Went to the Police convalescent home in Hove for a couple of weeks and really enjoyed himself.

Lots of charitable work, Royal British legion, Council twinning committees, Air Scouts and Sea cadets

Became Lord of the Manor of Balneath in 1995

Lots of Local and national interest in the title

Made freeman of the city of London

Was Granted his own Coat of Arms

Other charitable work including st george etc
