About Me

Growing up as an Army brat inspired my passion for culture, language, and global connection from an early age. This created my life mission: bridge cultural and linguistic gaps to create mutual understanding between people from different backgrounds. I recently completed my Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies, along with minors in Japanese and Asian Studies. In addition, I earned certifications in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) and Global Scholar studies, further strengthening my commitment to intercultural communication and education. 

In 2022, I completed my Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certification, as teaching quickly became one of my greatest passions. While completing this certification, I worked with children in the English Language Learners (ELL) program at my local elementary school. Since June 2023, I volunteered weekly at Fox Valley Literacy, a local non-profit organization where I taught English to immigrants and adult learners from diverse cultural backgrounds until the summer of 2026.

In the spring of 2024, I studied abroad in South Korea while completing my Asian Studies minor, an experience that strengthened both my intercultural communication skills and global perspective. The following semester, I participated in the Guy Healy Japan Internship in Fukuoka, Japan, partenered with the Munakata Board of Education, teaching English to students in Japanese schools grades 3-9.

Most recently, I was accepted into the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program as an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT), where I will continue promoting cross-cultural understanding through education and language exchange in Japan. I am also a future masters student at Syracuse University, where I plan to pursue graduate studies in International Relations and Public Affairs.

Through my academic, volunteer, and international experiences, I have developed strong communication, adaptability, leadership, and cross-cultural collaboration skills. My long-term goals include continuing my Japanese language studies, contributing to international education and cultural exchange, and eventually pursuing a career within federal agencies focused on international relations, diplomacy, or public service.
