This app does not create user accounts, and we run no server of our own. Your settings (alarms, preferences, and downloaded content) are stored locally on your device and are never sent to us.
Only two things can leave your device, both detailed below:
Location, if you enable it: your coordinates are sent to your platform geocoding service (Google/Apple) to resolve your city and country. See section 2.
Crash reports, only if you turn them on — they are off by default. See section 4.
Everything else stays on your device.
Depending on features you use, the app may request location, notifications, and exact alarms permissions.
For prayer alarms, the app may show a full-screen alert on your lock screen at prayer time.
Sounds and audio files are selected through the system file picker, without a dedicated runtime audio permission. Text-to-speech (TTS) uses your device system engine.
If location is enabled, coordinates may be processed by platform geocoding services (Google/Apple) to resolve city and country.
We do not store your coordinates on our servers.
Tayba has no backend server of its own: your settings, prayer times, and Qibla direction are computed on your device.
A few features contact third-party servers, and any internet request necessarily reveals your IP address to the server contacted. These providers act as independent controllers under their own policies:
Quran recitation audio (everyayah.com): contacted only when you play or download a recitation.
Latin transliteration (cdn.jsdelivr.net): contacted once only, and only if you enable transliteration.
Update check (raw.githubusercontent.com, GitHub/Microsoft): contacted automatically, at most once a day, to read a small version file. No information about you is sent.
Adhan, external links (store/website), and support contact: only when you start them.
We send no account, device identifier, or usage profile to these services.
We do not integrate analytics, advertising SDKs, or behavioral tracking in the app.
Crash reports are optional and disabled by default. Nothing is sent unless you turn on "Help improve Tayba" in Settings › Privacy. You can turn it off at any time, with immediate effect.
If you enable it, anonymous crash reports are sent to Sentry (servers in the European Union), solely to fix stability problems. They contain no personal data, no location, and no device identifier; IP addresses are not stored. No screenshots or performance metrics are collected.
These reports are automatically deleted by Sentry after 30 days.
Some features rely on third-party/platform services (e.g., app store, TTS engine, network provider, email client).
Any data processing by those services is governed by their own privacy policies.
Text-to-speech (TTS) uses your device system engine.
Depending on that engine, text may be processed by the TTS provider. We do not run a dedicated audio server for this use.
