Welcome to TaxRefine. By downloading, accessing, or using the TaxRefine mobile application (“App”), you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms & Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the App.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using TaxRefine, you confirm that:

• You are at least 18 years old or legally permitted to use financial applications in your jurisdiction.

• You agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

• You will use the App only for lawful purposes.

2. Description of Service

TaxRefine is a financial productivity application designed to help users:

• Connect bank accounts using Plaid

• View and categorize transactions

• Estimate potential tax-deductible expenses

• Track business and personal spending

• Analyze financial insights

TaxRefine does not provide legal, tax, accounting, or financial advice.

3. No Professional Tax Advice

The tax savings estimates, categorizations, and financial insights shown in the App are informational only.

TaxRefine:

• Is not a certified tax advisor

• Does not guarantee tax outcomes

• Does not guarantee IRS, CRA, or any authority compliance

Users should consult a licensed tax professional before making tax-related decisions.

4. Third-Party Services

TaxRefine does not store banking credentials entered through Plaid.

TaxRefine integrates with third-party providers including:

• Plaid

• Google Sign-In

• Supabase

• Render cloud infrastructure

Your use of these services may also be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

We are not responsible for:

• Third-party outages

• Banking connection failures

• External API errors

• Third-party security incidents

5. User Accounts

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your account

• Protecting your device and login credentials

• All activity occurring under your account

You agree not to:

• Share accounts

• Attempt unauthorized access

• Reverse engineer, misuse,  or abuse the App

Users may request account deletion and associated data removal by contacting support.

6. Data Accuracy

TaxRefine relies on transaction data received from financial institutions and third-party providers.

We do not guarantee:

• Transaction accuracy

• Categorization accuracy

• Availability of bank connections

• Continuous uptime

7. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, software, designs, logos, and functionality within TaxRefine are the property of TaxRefine and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not:

• Copy

• Modify

• Distribute

• Resell

• Reverse engineer

any part of the App without written permission.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TaxRefine shall not be liable for:

• Financial losses

• Tax penalties

• Incorrect categorization

• Data loss

• Service interruptions

• Indirect or consequential damages

Use of the App is at your own risk.

9. Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect user data. However, no digital platform can guarantee complete security.

Users are responsible for:

• Securing their devices

• Using strong authentication methods

• Keeping login credentials confidential

10. Termination

We reserve the right to:

• Suspend or terminate accounts

• Restrict access

• Remove content

if users violate these Terms or misuse the platform.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Updated versions will be posted within the App or associated websites.

Continued use of the App after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
