What's Problem?
In many villages, daily movement is still a struggle.
In many villages, daily movement is still a struggle.
Large platforms like Uber focus on high-density urban markets to maximize profits. As a result, rural communities—especially villages—have been left behind.
That gap is where TaxiGram (“Taxi of the Village”) was created.
We address a set of interconnected, real-world problems that affect daily life in villages:
Many children walk 3–5 kilometers every day just to attend school. In extreme heat, cold, or rain, this becomes a serious barrier to education.
Rural women often miss work, education, and daily opportunities due to lack of safe, affordable transport. In many areas, traveling alone—especially after evening hours—is not considered safe.
Simple tasks like going to the market become physically demanding, as women often walk long distances carrying heavy groceries back home.
In the absence of transport alternatives, underage boys from better-off families frequently use motorcycles without licenses. This contributes to a higher risk of accidents, injuries, and fatalities—impacting both themselves and others.
Easy access to vehicles without supervision also increases exposure to risky behaviors, including reckless driving, substance misuse, and unsafe social environments.
Most hospitals are located in towns and cities. During emergencies, villagers often struggle to find immediate transport, delaying critical medical care.
Men from low-income households rely on bicycles, walking, or uncertain hitchhiking—leading to lost time, reduced productivity, and limited income opportunities.
For many families, owning a two-wheeler costs ₹50,000–₹1,00,000 plus ongoing fuel and maintenance. For occasional use, this is inefficient—yet there are no viable transport alternatives.
This is not just a transport problem.
It directly impacts:
Education access
Women’s safety and participation
Healthcare access
Youth safety
Rural livelihoods
Creating a safe, affordable, and reliable village-level mobility, connecting villages to each other and to nearby towns - especially schools and hospitals - all of these while also generating livelihoods for local drivers.
That's what IMPACT TaxiGram does!
