Can anyone give advice if I should try to stay around the airport (although not a vast amount of options) and if I did whether a taxi can be easily found so early in the morning. Reading reviews of some of the hotels around the airport where a shuttle was provided for an outrageous price.

Or should I stay in the city center and get a taxi ? With the second alternative I probably would need to leave at 5:00 AM to reach the airport by 6:00. Any suggestions are welcome as this is my first time in Istanbul.

I am looking to visit soon, how much does a taxi cost cost from Sabiha Gokcen to SultanAhmet, my hotel quoted 45 Euros which seemed quite expensive but then Welcome Pickups quoted the same. Is this the standard costs? Or is it cheaper taking a taxi from the airport? I land around 6.30pm, how long will it take to reach SultanAhmet? Is traffic quite busy around that time?

Great, i see it is a bus.. so do they take the istanbulkart which I will purchase from the airport? and do they run every hour. Are they easy to locate once we step out of the airport? i am asking because I had read various comments saying that you have to wait a lot for the bus to fill up and for some others it was not easy to locate.

Arriving in Istanbul international Airport in 2 days , what is the best way to get to uskudar, nearby Marmaray station?

I will arrive around 10 pm, If I take the bus from airport to Beskitas, would it be easy to take a taxi from there to uskudar? Or better to take the bus to Takseem, then raje a taxi from there?

Any idea how much us the cost?

Hello, i booked a hotel for april, near to the blue mosque and they said the taxi fee cost me 40 euros from Instanbul airport to the hotel, do you think is a good rate or is better dont do the bookig and find a taxi when we arrive? thanls

It was around 9pm. He said give me 50 lira in advance for the fare trip. And then suddenly after i gave him the money, he said for the national taxi the series number money must be started from I. I started to feel suspicious, when i open my wallet he snatched the money right away pretending to help me and then show it to his colleague to act like there is something wrong with the money. And then pretending to give back the money. He was so aggressive. I got out from the taxi right away. He pretended to be disappointed.

Istanbul taxi drivers are notorious at scamming tourists. The Bitaxsi app and Uber are far better alternatives than just hailing a cab in Istanbul. However, even with Bitaxsi you may be scammed. On a recent trip, I noticed every time my Bitaxsi booked journey ended, the driver would type a higher fare into the app than what is on the meter. So 15 lira instead of 12Lira shown on meter. This happened every day. On one occasion, the journey on the meter was 15.5 Lira. The driver entered 155 Lira into the app. These scams spoil the experience for tourists, it only mqkes people not wanting to return to the country. The fare differences may be small, but the principle of honesty is clearly lacking in Istanbul.

Hi, I arrive at Istanbul New Airport 28 December 16.55. Can you please tell me how much I will expect to pay in a taxi for 2 passengers, 2 suitcases, and 1 hand luggage to Dila Hotel, Kadikoy district please. Would I be better booking online for both onward and return journey or just get a taxi from outside arrivals.

With a regular taxi this would be about 250 TL I guess (including the bridge toll), could be more in case of heavy traffic. If you prefer to order online and have a fixed price, go for Kiwi Taxi instead.

You could get a regular taxi since traffic will be close to nothing. However, if you want to be sure (about the fee and timing) you could order a taxi via Kiwi Taxi. It may be a bit more expensive, but you can book it upfront, can be sure it will get you there in time, and at a fixed price.

Hi I am going to turkey in 2 March 2019, the travel agent quoted me $216 Australian dollars for transport from Ataturk International Airport to Casa di Bava which is in Taksim this is a return fair meaning its about 812 Turkish Lira, she said that the taxis in Turkey rip people off.

Is this too much to pay I feel its too much and that the travel agents also take advantage please advise where do I go to get a taxi or Uber or transport car to take us from airport to hotel without been ripped off, how much should I be charged. thank you

I love Istanbul and normally I take the Metro etc from Ataturk to city, but sometimes with others , I have to take a taxi. Is there someone controlling at the airport taxi rank? Its annoying to have to bargain with the drivers demanding to turn on meter.

For 1st time visitors it must be terrible.

The taxi stand of the Atatrk Airport is connected to the Ataturk Airport Cab Drivers Cooperative which is controlled by the municipality of Istanbul just like all the taxis in Istanbul.

However, when you take a taxi at the airport it may not be from that stand. Taxis from other stands bringing customers to the airport may also take new customers from the airport.

I took local taxi on 12 Dec 2018 from vodafone Park ,which is Besiktas club stadium, to Galatarsaray club then Fenebeche. The driver waited for me.

5' after we leave the airport (so I can't cancel the ride), the driver takes out a sign that says it's around 400 (whatever the taxi meter says at the end) plus 350 for the tolls, so in total 750. I start arguing that I have friends who took the taxi from the airport and paid around 400, they didn't pay for the tolls and he started saying the government takes that money not me etc. He tried to get 2x the amount of the ride.

I started yelling ok stop stop stop stop stop in a random neighbourhood that seemed safe. He finally stops I exit the taxi and start saying at the co-driver's window with Google translate that he's trying to get more money from me and I don't want to be in this taxi anymore so how much should I pay to him in EUR cash that I had. He got enraged and started yelling and was about to exit the cab, I was afraid he's gonna try to assault me (punch me or even draw a knife or smth) so I said "how much with POS?"
