One of the main goals of TAWPh 2026 is to connect deserving young Filipino researchers with international mentors for potential collaboration and supervision. The lecturers and speakers of TAWPh have committed in mentoring at least one graduate student for graduate supervision. The Share and Connect Session shall be initiated within the workshop where interested students will meet and engage with the mentors for selection. Chosen students shall be informed 2 weeks after TAWPh.
Here are the roles of the foreign mentor:
External thesis supervisor of the Filipino student together with a local Filipino supervisor.
Career mentorship
May include but not limited to:
a. sharing of network
b. assistance to possible grant proposals after PhD or other international opportunities
c. possible hosting in their respective institute (e.g. research visits or sandwhich fellowship if available).
If you are interested in the program, here are the steps to take:
Choose a mentor who you wish to work with. Each mentor has their specialised assessment within the Share and Connect Session.

Notes:
Only registered onsite participants of TAWPh are eligible to the mentorship program.
We would like to emphasize that the foreign mentor shall act as an external supervisor. Hence, a student still needs a Filipino local supervisor in their Philippine institution.
