The Municipality of Sibutu is the 3rd largest land area in Tawi-Tawi. It was named after the first community established in the 13th Century where the first Islamic Missionary Sheik Karimul Makhdum was firstly landed. Sibutu known as the "Home of kumpit builders" in Tawi-Tawi.
