My Bio

Gustavo Luyo (TAVO) has been a test prep professional in Peru for 12 years now.  He holds an Informatic Engineering degree from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) and the Certification of Proficiency in English (ECPE) from the University of Michigan.

After performing as a senior sales executive in the Information and Communications Technology industry for 15 years, TAVO decided to take a career shift and pursue a position as an English language instructor, enrolling as a trainee in a TESOL teacher training program.  In 2012, he started teaching English as a Foreign Language to speakers of Spanish.  Ever since 2013, he has been preparing and helping candidates to sit international examinations such as TOEFL, IELTS, GMAT, GRE and SAT.  

For the last ten years, he has dictated EFL classes and Prep Classes for the SAT, GMAT, GRE, TOEFL, and IELTS exams on a regular basis in several prestigious EFL schools in Peru, such as ICPNA, LanCoach, and GMAT Dudes.  He has also engaged in online tutoring for international examinations.  The success of his tutoring is reflected in the scores achieved by his trainees, 95% of them obtaining 700+ GMAT scores, 95+ TOEFL scores, and 7.5+  IELTS scores (check the testimonials in another page on this site).

TAVO's lifelong hobbies include movies, Japanese animation, learning foreign languages, prep content creation and highway road trips.
