My name is Chad Tauer, and this is my 10th year of teaching. I received my Bachelors degree from Winona State University, based out of Winona, MN. I later on received post-graduate degrees from Minnesota State University, Moorhead, and have 5 teaching license in Minnesota (Physical Education, Health, Developmentally Adapted Physical Education, Physical/Health Disabilities, and Developmental Disabilities).Â
My wife and I moved to San Diego in June of 2022, where she works as a Resident Physician at University of California, San Diego, and I was able to obtain a position as an Orthopedic Impairment Program Teacher, serving the school districts of East San Diego with their AT needs for their Orthopedically-Impaired students.
I have since moved on from this position, as it was cut after the 2024-2025 school year, and since then, I've been teaching Adapted Physical Education to charter school students and home study students in the San Diego area! Currently, I provide push-in support, small group instruction, indvidualized instruction, and consultation services for students who qualify for Adapted Physical Education.
Aside from my wife and I, we have two pitbulls named Jet and Penny, who we love dearly!
Outside of school, I engage in competitive powerlifting, where I set a California State Record in the deadlift with a 275 kg/606 lbs deadlift. When I am not training for competition, I enjoy hiking around San Diego with my dogs, with our favorite hike being Cowles Mountain.
