"My wings"

I have lived through many challenging situations since my childhood. I was never religious. I only decided to do the church confirmation because I wanted to receive the gifts. And even so, God has shown me that He exists and protects me. He showed me that I have wings and that I am always able to rise again when I fall. I am capable of flying. I am capable of rising like the phoenix from the ashes. I am always capable of reinventing myself with God.

He wrapped me in His love while I was working through very intense traumas. Until then, I didn’t know I could scream from emotional pain and at the same time feel very safe and loved.
As a former CEO of a development aid organization, I also spent some time traveling through Africa and South America, and I learned from necessity that, with God’s help, one can survive physical illnesses like malaria or typhus when there is no medical care hundreds of kilometers away. Here too, He wrapped me in a cloud of love and security while I struggled for my life in repetitive comatose states.

God protects me. God protects each of us. We just have to allow it, surrender ourselves to His love and His path for us, and trust in Him with the depth of our soul. With God’s help, everything is possible. Even flying in situations where you think you’ll never be able to rise again.

Interestingly, many years passed before I found a tattoo artist who could create my wings exactly as I imagined them. Many previous tattoo artists told me they would only tattoo black wings or eagle wings. Then I met a guest tattoo artist from Bulgaria who also worked at many conventions. He told me, “I think I know how your wings should look, I can see them in my mind. I’ll draw something for you, come back in 2 hours.” After 2 hours, I returned, and he showed me his drawing. The wings were perfect. Those were my wings.

Unfortunately, the colors of the fire in the wings have faded a bit over the years since 2009, so I wanted to renew them. And again, several years passed before I met the right tattoo artist. This time in Chile. Thank you for that! And many thanks to Caos Art, especially Sebastián, for renewing my wonderful wings!
