The new Nexon EV facelift gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. This is one of the biggest touchscreen systems in any sub-compact SUV. This particular screen is even bigger than the 10.25-inch touchscreen display on the Nexon facelift. This screen will have some of the clearest graphics in any Indian automobile. The car will also get Alexa voice assistant.

The top-spec Nexon EV Fearless variant is fitted with a Harman-powered 12.3-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system with a resolution of 1920 x 720. It offers access to several OTT platforms such as Hotstar, Prime Video and YouTube. The audio comes from a 9-speaker audio system from JBL with 8 speakers and 1 subwoofer.

In a video posted on YouTube by the owner of the modification shop himself, Nitin Grover goes on to explain all the features of this giant vertically stacked free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, that has been equipped on a lower-end trim of the 2020 Tata Nexon facelift.

While the variant seen here is a lower-end trim of the car, the range-topping trim comes packed up to the brim with features like an electric sunroof, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, connected-car tech, automatic projector headlamps with LED DRLs, cruise control, automatic climate control, a flat-bottom steering wheel, a digital instrument cluster and much more.

This new infotainment system will support wireless connectivity for CarPlay and Android Auto, a high-definition reversing camera, and a better sound system. Along with a new user interface, the new system will have a voice assistant that can operate in six languages and accept 180+ voice commands in English, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, and Marathi.

Tata Motors has introduced a new variant of the Tata Nexon compact SUV in India - the XM+(S). Placed between the XM (S) and the XZ+, this newest addition is loaded with features and will be available at a starting price of Rs 9.75 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). Available in Calgary White, Daytona Grey, Flame Red and Foliage Green colour options, the Nexon XM+(S) will come equipped with an electric sunroof, 7-inch floating infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 4 speaker system, cooled glove box, rear AC vents, rain sensing wipers, auto headlamps, digital instrument cluster, multi drive modes, 12 V rear power socket and a shark fin antenna.

The first thing that strikes the chord is how radical this design has become. The LED DRL and the light panel up front endow a degree of sleekness to the Nexon now. Adding to it is a unique feature where the lights glow in a pattern that welcomes you or bids goodbye to the driver. This happens both upfront and at the rear. The bumper up front has been redesigned as well and we like the fact that the projector lights have dedicated panels and are not a big visual. In profile, though not much has changed and the Nexon continues to impress with its sporty design and rather practical 208mm of ground clearance. The rear end much like the front, comes with sporty LED light panels which sure look cool. We also liked the idea of tucking in the rear wash and wipe system underneath the rear spoiler. Just gives the vehicle a cleaner look. A 10.2in infotainment system and the 10.2in instrument panel give the 2023 Tata Nexon interiors a modern feel. They also offer a plethora of features. Note the bold three-tone interior treatment.

Step inside and the Nexon looks like a brand new vehicle. While we have seen two-tone interiors earlier, Tata Motors has really been brave here with most of the seats and upholstery draped in purple matching the exterior colour. The rest of it is black. The other major change comes in the form of the 10.25in infotainment system. The unit offers a high definition output which is very easy to read. The unit also houses a substantially powerful Harman audio system which plays via JBL speakers. The unit also beams the feed from the 360 degree camera and even the blind spot camera which comes alive on flicking the left indicator. The instrument panel is also a work of art being a large 10.25in unit as well. There is a multitude of displays that the driver can choose and he or she can also beam maps from Apple Car Play or Android Auto on the instrument panel. A very handy feature to have. The Nexon now also responds to voice commands and funnily enough it understands hinglish quite well. The new Nexon also comes with upgraded seats which now feature the ventilation function. The ventilation function also works a treat and keeps the occupants comfortable even on 37-degree summer days. Last, but not the least, the Nexon also gets wireless charging. The only place where we feel the Nexon needs an upgrade is the rear seat. While the seats are comfortable and there even is an armrest with cupholders integrated within, the overall rear cabin feels a bit dark. On the upside though, the quality levels have gone up substantially and that is exactly what the doctor had ordered. The 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine offers smooth performance. The engine can be had with a dual clutch transmission as well. Note the fancy new gear lever. Three drive modes are offered.

Tata Motors recently brought in a few updates for Nexon a few months ago. The subcompact UV got a fresh set of alloy wheels and also an updated infotainment unit. These updates have now been extended to its battery-powered sibling Nexon Electric.

Another crucial update made is that the physical buttons for the infotainment system controls have been removed. These buttons were located just below the central air-con vents and were offered with the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is available with XZ+ and XZ+ Lux trim. 006ab0faaa
