What I Learned About AI Behavior
Through this exploration, I understood that AI does not truly “understand” architecture. It generates outputs based on patterns in data rather than real architectural logic. In The Breathing House, AI successfully created organic and biological-inspired forms, but without true awareness of structure or function.
Form vs Function Gap
Image-based AI produced strong visual concepts of a “breathing” building with fluid facades and organic skins. However, many of these designs remain aesthetic interpretations rather than structurally feasible architecture.
AI Hallucination in Design
Some outputs included impossible architectural ideas such as floating elements or moving structural skins. This shows how AI can confidently generate unrealistic yet convincing architectural visions.
Vision vs Buildability
AI is powerful for conceptual visualization, especially in early design stages. It helped me imagine The Breathing House as a living organism within a tropical context. However, structural logic, materials, and engineering still require human judgment.
Role of Research AI
Research tools helped ground the concept in reality by showing real precedents in biomimicry and responsive architecture. This ensured that the design remains imaginative but still connected to real architectural principles.
