TaskDo ("we", "our", or "the app") is a productivity application built to help you manage tasks, habits, focus sessions, and calendar events. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app accesses, how it is used, and your rights as a user.
By using TaskDo, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
The following data is created and stored entirely on your device. It is never transmitted to our servers or shared with third parties.
Tasks and to-do items — titles, descriptions, due dates, priorities, and completion status
Habits — habit names, schedules, frequency settings, and completion history
Categories — custom labels and colors you create to organize tasks
Focus sessions — timer durations and session history
App settings and preferences — theme, notification preferences, and display options
Attachments — files you attach to tasks, stored in your device's local storage
If you grant calendar permission, the app reads and writes events using your device's built-in calendar via Android's CalendarContract content provider. This data stays on your device and is governed by your device's calendar app and your chosen calendar account provider (e.g. Google Calendar). We do not access, copy, or transmit your calendar data to any external server.
Permission used: READ_CALENDAR, WRITE_CALENDAR
Purpose: Display and create calendar events alongside your tasks
Required? No — calendar features are optional. The app works fully without this permission.
The app sends local notifications to remind you of upcoming tasks, habits, and focus sessions. These notifications are generated entirely on-device and do not require sending any data to external servers.
Permission used: POST_NOTIFICATIONS, SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM, USE_EXACT_ALARM
Purpose: Deliver timely reminders you have explicitly scheduled
Required? No — you may deny notification permission. Reminders will not be delivered.
The app requests internet access to support the AI-powered task suggestion feature. When you use AI suggestions, a request is sent to an AI API. This request contains only the task-related content you have entered and no personal identifiers.
Permission used: INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
Data sent: Task context (text only) for generating suggestions
Not sent: Your name, email, device ID, calendar data, or any other personal information
If you do not use the AI suggestions feature, no data is sent over the internet.
The app requests permission to restart scheduled reminders after your device reboots, so that alarms you set are not lost.
Permission used: RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED
Purpose: Reschedule your existing task and habit reminders after device restart
Data involved: None — no data is collected or transmitted
We do not collect, store, or transmit:
Your name, email address, or any account credentials
Your precise or approximate location
Your contacts or address book
Device identifiers (IMEI, advertising ID, Android ID)
Photos, camera, or microphone data
Financial or payment information
Browsing history or app usage across other apps
The app does not include any third-party advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or social media SDKs. The only external service the app communicates with is the AI suggestions API, as described in Section 2.4.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your data to any third party under any circumstances.
All user data (tasks, habits, settings, attachments) is stored locally on your device using Android's Room database and DataStore. Data is protected by Android's standard application sandboxing — other apps cannot access it.
Any data sent over the internet for AI suggestions is transmitted over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
We do not operate any servers that store your personal data.
If you have enabled Android's Auto Backup or Google One Backup on your device, your app data (tasks, habits, and settings) may be backed up to your Google account as part of Android's standard system backup. This backup is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and your own Google account settings. You can disable this in your device's backup settings.
TaskDo is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control at all times:
Access your data — all data is visible within the app
Delete your data — clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app permanently removes all locally stored data
Revoke permissions — you can revoke calendar and notification permissions at any time in your device settings under Apps > TaskDo > Permissions
Disable AI features — you may stop using AI suggestions at any time; no further data will be sent over the internet
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you through an in-app notice. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
