Welcome to TaskHive ("the App", "we", "us", or "our"). TaskHive is a task management application that helps individuals organize their work, track progress, set schedules, and receive timely reminders.

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use our App on Android and iOS devices. By downloading or using TaskHive, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

When you first launch the App, we ask you to provide:

• Name – used to personalize your experience within the App.

• Email address – used to identify your account and store your data securely in the cloud.

When you use the App's core features, you create and store:

• Task data – task names, descriptions, start dates, start times, alarm preferences, completion percentages, and repetition patterns.

• Subtask data – subtask names, descriptions, and completion percentages associated with your tasks.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

To provide notifications and background scheduling, the App may access:

• Device notification permissions – to send you pre-task and overdue task reminders.

• Device local time and timezone – to schedule notifications accurately and display dates/times in your local timezone.

We do not collect device identifiers, advertising IDs, location data, contacts, photos, or any other device sensor data.

2.3 Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect or store:

• Precise or approximate location data.

• Browsing history or activity outside the App.

• Financial or payment information.

• Health or biometric data.

• Contacts, camera, or microphone access.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected solely to provide and improve the TaskHive App. Specifically, we use your information to:

• Create and manage your account and securely store your tasks and subtasks in the cloud via Firebase (our backend provider).

• Display your tasks, subtasks, completion progress, and schedules within the App.

• Send push notifications reminding you of upcoming tasks where you have enabled alarms.

• Restore your data if you reinstall the App or switch devices.

• Diagnose and fix technical issues, and improve App performance.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating and improving the App. We do not share your personal data with any other third parties, including advertisers, analytics providers, or data brokers.

4. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as long as needed to provide you the service. Specifically:

• Your tasks, subtasks, and profile data remain stored until you delete them within the App or request deletion of your account.

• Deleted tasks are removed from our database and cannot be recovered.

• If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, please contact us using the details in Section 10.

5. Push Notifications

The App uses push notifications to remind you about your scheduled tasks. Notifications are sent only when:

• You have explicitly enabled the alarm for a specific task when creating or editing it.

• You have granted notification permissions to the App on your device.

You can disable notifications at any time through your device's system settings (Settings > Apps > TaskHive > Notifications). Disabling notifications will not delete your tasks or account data.

We do not use push notifications for marketing, advertising, or any purpose unrelated to your task schedule.

6. Children's Privacy

TaskHive is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will:

• Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.

• Notify you through the App or via the email address associated with your account, where required by law.

Your continued use of TaskHive after the updated policy becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
