If you want professional-grade, closed-back mixing headphones for critical audio work and long sessions, choose Tascam TH-MX2; if you need a durable repair kit to restore your existing Beats Studio 3 wireless headphones, choose Adhiper Studio 3. These two items sit in completely different corners of the market: one is a finished audio tool designed for sound engineers and musicians, while the other is a hardware component meant to fix a specific pair of consumer earcups. Confusing them would be a costly mistake, but understanding their distinct roles makes the decision effortless.
• Tascam TH-MX2: Delivers precise, closed-back studio sound with a 40mm driver and passive noise isolation; trade-off is that it is wired only, requiring a constant connection to your source.
• Adhiper Studio 3: Offers a cost-effective way to replace broken hinges or headbands on Beats Studio 3 models without buying new headphones; trade-off is that it is not a standalone listening device but a set of spare parts.
• Who should buy which: Choose the Tascam for anyone seeking open ear earbuds alternatives for focus during work, whereas the Adiprer kit is strictly for owners of damaged Beats hardware looking to save money on repairs.
The Tascam TH-MX2 is built for the person who needs to hear every detail in a mix without letting outside noise interfere. As a closed-back studio mixing headphone, its primary design philosophy centers on isolation and accuracy. The enclosure material is plastic, yet the build feels robust enough for daily studio use, featuring tightly-stitched padded headbands and ear bands that prioritize comfort over extended periods. Whether you are an audio engineer editing tracks or a musician monitoring recordings, the over-ear placement ensures a secure fit that stays put even when you move around the room.
At the heart of this device is a 40mm neodymium magnet dynamic driver capable of reproducing frequencies from 18 Hz to 22 kHz. This wide range allows for deep bass response and crisp highs, making it suitable not just for professional mixing but also for everyday music listening. The impedance sits at 32 ohms, meaning it can be driven by standard equipment without needing a dedicated amplifier, though it shines when connected to higher-quality interfaces. The cable length is substantial at about 9.8 feet (3 meters) when fully extended, giving you plenty of freedom to move away from your computer or console without worrying about pulling the unit off your ears.
This product is ideal for someone working in a shared space who needs earphones for work that block out distractions effectively. The passive noise cancellation inherent in the closed-back design helps create a quiet bubble, essential for critical listening tasks. However, it is not for those who demand wireless freedom. Since the connectivity technology relies solely on a wired connection via a 3.5 mm jack, you will need to manage cables carefully. If you require mobility without wires, this specific model might feel restrictive compared to modern wireless options, but for stationary or semi-stationary work where audio fidelity is paramount, it remains a top-tier choice.

In stark contrast to the Tascam, the Adhiper Studio 3 is not a headphone you wear to listen to music; it is a repair kit designed specifically for owners of Beats Studio 3 wireless headphones. If your beloved Beats have developed a loose hinge, a cracked headband, or simply lost their structural integrity, this set offers a practical solution to extend the life of your current device. The package includes a replacement headband, a pair of replacement hinges, a screwdriver, and eight screws, allowing you to perform the restoration yourself rather than sending the device away or purchasing a brand-new pair.
The construction of these parts aims to match the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications as closely as possible. The color scheme is Gray Gold, mirroring the aesthetic of the genuine Beats units so that the repaired headphones look seamless after the swap. Because the size and construction are nearly identical to the OEM parts, you do not need to worry about fitment issues or misalignment once installed. This attention to detail ensures that the mechanical function of the headphones is restored, bringing back the clamping force and flexibility that make the original model comfortable.
This product is perfect for the budget-conscious user who refuses to throw away a perfectly functional pair of electronics just because a single mechanical part has failed. By avoiding the high cost of replacing entire headphones, you can save significant money while keeping your preferred sound signature and features intact. It is also a great option for travelers or commuters who rely on their Beats for daily commutes and cannot afford downtime waiting for a repair shop. However, it is crucial to note that this kit is exclusively compatible with the Beats Studio 3 model. If you own a different version, such as the Studio Pro or any other brand, this set will not work. Always verify your specific model before attempting a purchase to ensure compatibility.

Its closed-back design and professional driver specs make it the superior tool for actual listening and production tasks. In my opinion, the Adhiper Studio 3 is a fantastic utility item for a very specific niche—those who happen to own broken Beats Studio 3 units—but it cannot compete with the Tascam as a primary audio device. If your goal is to hear your work clearly and comfortably for long hours, the Tascam is the clear winner.

While a 32-ohm impedance means they can work with standard devices, using them with a proper audio interface will yield the best results for professional mixing. They do not have a built-in battery, so they rely entirely on your connected device's power output.
No, the Tascam TH-MX2 is a wired headphone that connects via a 3.5 mm jack. It does not support Bluetooth or any wireless connectivity, ensuring a stable, latency-free signal for critical audio work.
