Welcome to Tasbeeh & Islamic Daily Tracker ("the App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our Android application. We are committed to respecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.
This App is developed as a calm, respectful, offline-first Islamic daily companion to help you:
Track your tasbeeh (dhikr counting)
Track your daily five prayers and build streaks
View accurate prayer times for your location
Explore authentic duas and hadith
Build consistent spiritual habits
It is designed with simplicity, privacy, and trust as core values.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the App.
We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on external servers. The App is designed to function primarily offline, with optional internet requests only for prayer time calculations. All user data remains on your device.
The types of data generated and stored locally on your device include:
Tasbeeh & Spiritual Tracking:
Tasbeeh session records (dhikr type, count, target, completion status)
Daily prayer tracking logs (which prayers have been marked as completed)
Streak data (prayer streaks, tasbeeh streaks, overall streaks)
Quranic reading progress and bookmarks
Application Preferences:
Selected language (English or Urdu)
Theme preference (Light, Dark, or Islamic Green)
Haptic feedback and sound settings
Reminder toggle states (morning azkar, evening azkar, prayer tracker)
Prayer notification settings (enabled/disabled, reminder offset, notification mode)
Onboarding completion status
Prayer Times Data:
Your location (city and country - user-entered text only, never your precise GPS coordinates)
Calculation method preference (Karachi, Isna, Muslim World League, etc.)
Madhab/School preference (Shafi'i or Hanafi)
Cached prayer times for today (valid for current day only, auto-refreshed daily)
Preloaded Islamic Content:
99 Names of Allah (Asma Al-Husna)
Collection of authenticated duas and hadith
All stored in local database
The App does not collect, request, or store:
Your name, email address, or phone number
Your precise GPS location coordinates (only text you manually enter: city/country)
Contacts, photos, files, or browsing history
Device identifiers (IMEI, advertising ID, etc.)
Payment or financial information
Health or fitness data
Any personally identifiable information (PII)
All data generated by the App is used solely to provide you with the features and functionality described below:
Tasbeeh Features:
Display your tasbeeh counting progress and session history
Track your session counts and targets
Prayer Tracking:
Track your daily prayer completion and calculate streaks
Show prayer completion status on home screen widgets
Deliver optional local reminder notifications at your chosen times (morning azkar, evening azkar, prayer tracker)
Prayer Times Features:
Calculate accurate prayer times based on your location (city/country you provide)
Display today's prayer times using the calculation method and madhab you select
Cache prayer times locally for offline access
Show next prayer countdown on home screen
Spiritual Content:
Show daily inspirational content (duas and hadith) from a preloaded offline collection
Display the 99 Names of Allah (Asma Al-Husna)
User Experience:
Remember your preferred language, theme, and feedback settings
Display your progress on home screen widgets
Show your streaks and achievements
No Data Mining: No data is used for advertising, marketing, profiling, analytics, behavioral tracking, or any purpose other than serving the App's core functionality to you.
All App data is stored locally on your Android device using the following standard Android technologies:
Room Database — for tasbeeh sessions, prayer logs, cached prayer times, and preloaded Islamic content (duas, hadith, dhikr, Asma Al-Husna)
DataStore Preferences — for app settings such as language, theme, haptic/sound toggles, reminder states, and prayer notification preferences
Your data never leaves your device. There is no cloud synchronization, no server-side storage, and no remote backup. If you uninstall the App or clear its data through your device settings, all locally stored data will be permanently deleted.
The App requests the following Android permissions. Each permission is used only for the purpose described below. We provide in-app disclosures for each permission in the Settings screen under "About" → "Permissions & Privacy."
Purpose: Deliver local reminder notifications
Required on Android 13 and above to send local reminder notifications (morning azkar, evening azkar, prayer tracker reminders)
The App prompts for this permission when you enable a reminder toggle in Settings
Notifications are delivered entirely on your device with no server involvement
No notifications are sent without your explicit opt-in through Settings
You can revoke this permission at any time through device settings, and the App will remain fully functional
Purpose: Precise prayer time reminder scheduling
Required to schedule exact alarms so prayer time reminders fire at the precise time you've set (not just within a time window)
Ensures reliability and accuracy of prayer time alerts
Used only when prayer notifications are enabled in Settings
All alarms are rescheduled automatically after device restart to maintain continuity
You can disable this feature by turning off prayer notifications in Settings
Purpose: Calculate accurate prayer times
Required to provide location data for prayer times calculation
We use your geographic location only to fetch accurate prayer times from the AlAdhan API
Important: You provide your location by manually entering your city and country in Prayer Times Settings. The App does not collect GPS coordinates or use background location tracking.
Your location is cached locally in the App's database and is never transmitted to our servers
Location is only sent to AlAdhan API (aladhan.com) for prayer time calculation; see Section 8 for details
You can change your location at any time in Settings, or manually enter a different city/country
Purpose: Haptic feedback on tasbeeh counting
Used to provide haptic (vibration) feedback on each tasbeeh count tap, when enabled in Settings
This runs entirely on-device and does not transmit any data
You can disable haptic feedback at any time through Settings → Feedback Section
Purpose: Reschedule reminders after device restart
Used to reschedule your reminder notifications after your device restarts
Ensures your chosen reminders continue working without requiring you to reopen the App
Respects your reminder preferences exactly as set in Settings
The App does not request:
Camera or microphone access
Contacts or phone state access
File system access (beyond the App's private directory)
Internet permission (prayer times are fetched only when you manually request them)
The App is designed to function offline first. However, one optional internet request is made with your explicit consent:

What we send:
City name (as you entered it)
Country name (as you entered it)
Your selected calculation method and madhab (Shafi'i or Hanafi)
What we receive:
Prayer times for your location
Privacy of AlAdhan:
AlAdhan is a third-party service. Their privacy policy is available at: https://aladhan.com/
The request is made over HTTPS (encrypted)
We do not receive confirmation of your location's GPS coordinates through this request
AlAdhan does not collect personal identifiable information directly from your device
Caching:
Prayer times are cached locally on your device and valid for the current day only
The App does not require internet for subsequent views of the same day's prayer times
Cached prayer times are automatically refreshed daily or when you manually request an update
The App offers optional local reminders that you can enable or disable at any time through the Settings screen:
Morning Azkar Reminder — Reminder for morning remembrance (optional, default time 6:00 AM)
Evening Azkar Reminder — Reminder for evening remembrance (optional, default time 6:00 PM)
Prayer Tracker Reminder — Reminder to log your daily prayers (optional, default time 10:00 PM)
Prayer Time Reminders — Customizable alerts for Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha (optional, Prayer Times Settings)
All reminders are scheduled using Android's AlarmManager and run entirely on your device
No data is sent to any server to deliver these reminders
They are not push notifications and do not require an internet connection
Reminders are rescheduled automatically after device restart
You can adjust reminder offset (5, 10, 15, or 30 minutes before prayer time)
You can choose notification mode: Sound, Vibrate, or Silent
On Android 13 and above, the App will request notification permission before delivering any reminders
You can revoke this permission at any time through your device's system settings
You can disable any individual reminder through Settings
You can disable all prayer time notifications with a single toggle in Prayer Times Settings
The App provides a dedicated "Permissions & Privacy" disclosure panel in Settings → About that explains:
Notifications Permission — Why prayer time alerts need notification permission
Location Permissions — How location (city/country) is used for prayer times calculation
Exact Alarm Permission — Why precise alarm scheduling is necessary for prayer accuracy
Data Collection Statement — Assurance that no personal data is collected, transmitted, or stored externally
These in-app disclosures are available in both English and Urdu and can be expanded/collapsed for easy reference.
The App provides optional home screen widgets that display:
Your current tasbeeh session progress
Your daily prayer completion status
Next prayer time (with countdown)
These widgets read data from the local database on your device and do not transmit any information externally.
Widget updates are handled through Android's standard Glance widget framework and occur periodically or when you interact with the App. Widget data is always sourced from your device's local storage.
We do not share, sell, trade, or transfer your data to any third party.
The only external service the App integrates with is:
AlAdhan API (aladhan.com) — For prayer times calculation
Data shared: City and country names (as user-entered text)
Purpose: Fetch daily prayer times
Privacy: AlAdhan's privacy policy: https://aladhan.com/
Communication: HTTPS encrypted, one-way (App initiates request)
The App does NOT integrate:
Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, or any telemetry
Advertising networks (no ads in the App)
Crash reporting or bug tracking services (no automated crash reports sent)
Social media SDKs
Customer data platforms
Any tracking or profiling services
If future versions of the App introduce any third-party integrations (such as advertising, analytics, or crash reporting), this Privacy Policy will be updated before those changes take effect. You will be informed through an App update notification.
The App is suitable for users of all ages, including children. It is an Islamic educational and spiritual utility that contains:

Parents and guardians can feel confident that their children's privacy is fully protected when using this App.
Because all data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted over the internet (except optional prayer times requests), the security of your data is governed by the security of your device itself.
App-Level:
The App uses Android's built-in app sandboxing, which prevents other apps from accessing the App's private data directory
Sensitive data (settings, preferences) are stored in DataStore with platform-provided encryption
No unencrypted transmission of user data
Device-Level Recommendations:
Keep your device's operating system and security patches up to date
Use a strong screen lock (PIN, pattern, fingerprint, or face recognition)
Be cautious when installing apps from unknown sources
Consider using a device lock when the App is not in use
Regularly backup your device if you want to preserve App data
All requests to AlAdhan are made over HTTPS (encrypted)
City and country information are transmitted securely
No sensitive PII is transmitted in these requests
You have full control over your data and the App's behavior:
Toggle any reminder: Enable or disable morning azkar, evening azkar, and prayer tracker reminders at any time through Settings
Prayer notification settings: Enable/disable prayer notifications, set reminder offset (5/10/15/30 min), choose notification mode (Sound/Vibrate/Silent)
Feedback settings: Toggle haptic feedback and sound on or off through Settings → Feedback Section
Language: Switch between English and Urdu through Settings → Language
Theme: Choose your preferred visual theme (Light, Dark, or Islamic Green) through Settings → Theme
Location: Change your city/country for prayer times at any time through Prayer Times Settings
Calculation method: Change your prayer calculation method or madhab at any time through Prayer Times Settings
Reset data: Clear your tasbeeh session or start a new prayer streak at any time
Test notification: Send a test prayer notification to verify the feature works correctly
Through your device's Settings, you can:
Revoke notification permission at any time (Settings → Apps → Tasbeeh → Permissions → Notifications)
Revoke location permission at any time (Settings → Apps → Tasbeeh → Permissions → Location)
Clear all App data (Settings → Apps → Tasbeeh → Storage → Clear Data)
Uninstall the App to permanently remove all associated data from your device
There is no account to delete (no account system)
There is no data export feature (data is on your device only)
There is no remote data to request deletion of, because no data exists outside your device
All App data is deleted automatically when you uninstall the App or clear its data through system settings
The App is primarily designed for users in Pakistan and South Asia, but it is available for download and use globally.
Localization:
Supports English and Urdu languages
Prayer times calculation supports multiple calculation methods used worldwide (Karachi, ISNA, Muslim World League, etc.)
Respects Islamic practices and is designed for a Muslim audience worldwide
Privacy Across Borders:
Because the App does not collect or transmit any personal data, there are no cross-border data transfer concerns
Only optional prayer times requests to AlAdhan may cross borders (city/country text only, no PII)
All data remains on your device regardless of your location
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App's functionality, new features, or to comply with legal requirements.
When we make changes:
The "Last Updated" date at the top of this document will be updated
Significant changes will be communicated through an App update notification
Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically (at least annually)
If we make changes that materially affect your privacy (such as adding a new data collection practice or third-party integration), we will:
Display a prominent notice in the App
Provide the updated Privacy Policy for your review
Give you the option to accept the new policy or discontinue use of the App
For users in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or other GDPR-compliant jurisdictions:
