Dr. Tarun De Assistant Professor (Grade II) National Institute of Technology Calicut
I am Dr. Tarun De, an Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Technology Calicut and a former Senior Scientist, Process Modeller at Pfizer Healthcare India Pvt. Ltd, Chennai. My work lies at the intersection of applied mathematics, particle technology, pharmaceutical process modelling, and scientific computing, with a focus on DEM, PBM-DEM coupling, CFD-DEM, coarse-graining techniques, and digital twin development.
I completed my Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from IIT Kharagpur, with a thesis on "Efficient and dynamic coarse-graining strategies for DEM and PBM-DEM coupled simulations". Before joining Pfizer, I worked at IIT Kanpur as a Postdoctoral Fellow and Project Executive Officer in the Department of Chemical Engineering. I also taught Engineering Mathematics at IIT Kharagpur and served as an NPTEL teaching assistant. I have collaborated with academic and industrial partners including IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Ropar, Rutgers University, Eli Lilly, AbbVie, Tata Steel, and ITC.
