In the 2012-2013 season we added Britta Dwyer to our coaching staff and became one of the first (if not the first) high school program in the state of Minnesota to have an academic coach. Britta Dwyer has been a mathematics teacher since 2006 and joined the Tartan High School staff in 2010.
We believe that our student athletes are just that, students before they are athletes. Coach Dwyer's passion, organization, energy and commitment to helping our player's succeed in the classroom has been a major asset to our program since day one.
Coach Dwyer runs weekly grade reports, facilitates study halls before games, organizes an academic challenge that runs throughout the season, helps our players learn how to communicate with and advocate for themselves with their teachers, communicates with parents, and so much more.
