This privacy policy applies to the Stride: Step Journey mobile application, referred to in this policy as the "Application". The Application was created by Yunus Balka, referred to in this policy as the "Service Provider", as a freemium service. The Application is provided for use "AS IS".
Information Collection and Use
The Application may collect information when you download, open, or use it. This information may include:
Your device's Internet Protocol address, such as IP address
Device identifiers and technical diagnostics used to keep the Application secure, stable, and functioning
The pages, screens, and features of the Application that you visit, the time and date of your visit, and the time spent on those pages or features
The operating system and device type you use on your mobile device
Account and profile information you choose to provide, such as name, birthday, height, weight, and avatar selection
Step and activity data, including daily step counts, distance, calories, and walking duration, collected via the device's pedometer or through Apple Health / Google Fit (with your permission)
Journey and route activity, such as routes started or completed, checkpoints reached, journey progress, and route history
Passport, level, streak, and achievement data generated as you use the Application
Subscription and purchase status needed to provide premium (Pro) features
The Application does not collect or access your device's GPS location. Walking routes and journeys shown in the Application are static maps and do not require or use real-time location tracking.
The Service Provider may use the information you provide to operate and improve the Application, personalize your experience (such as daily step goals and journey recommendations), provide customer support, send required notices, manage subscriptions, prevent abuse, and communicate important updates where permitted by law.
Third-Party Access
Only aggregated or anonymized data is periodically transmitted to external services to help the Service Provider improve the Application and its service. The Service Provider may also share information with third-party providers where needed to operate the Application, process subscriptions, analyze usage, or host backend services.
The Application may use third-party services that have their own privacy policies, including:
Firebase Analytics
Supabase
RevenueCat
Apple Health / Google Fit (for step and activity data, only with your permission)
Map data providers used to display static routes and journeys
The Service Provider may disclose user-provided and automatically collected information:
As required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process
When the Service Provider believes in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect their rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, prevent abuse, or respond to a government request
With trusted service providers who work on the Service Provider's behalf, do not have an independent use of the information disclosed to them, and have agreed to handle the information in accordance with this privacy policy and applicable law
Opt-Out Rights
You can stop all collection of information by uninstalling the Application. You may use the standard uninstall process available on your device or through the relevant application marketplace.
You may also disable Health/Fitness data access through your device settings at any time. Some analytics, subscription, and backend processing may still occur as needed to operate, secure, and improve the Application.
Data Retention Policy
The Service Provider retains user-provided data for as long as you use the Application and for a reasonable time thereafter, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. Journey progress, passport stamps, levels, streaks, stats, and subscription information may be retained to provide account features and restore your experience across sessions.
If you would like the Service Provider to delete user-provided data that you have submitted through the Application, please contact yunus.balka.dev@gmail.com. The Service Provider will respond within a reasonable time.
Children
The Application is not directed to children under the age of 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly solicit data from, market to, or collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age.
If the Service Provider discovers that a child under 13 has provided personal information, the Service Provider will delete that information from their servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided personal information, please contact the Service Provider at yunus.balka.dev@gmail.com so appropriate action can be taken.
Security
The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. The Service Provider uses physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards designed to protect the information processed and maintained by the Application. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify users of changes by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy regularly, as continued use of the Application after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
