Tareq Hossain is currently pursuing a PhD with the Cultural Studies in Asia program at the Department of Communication and New Media, National University of Singapore. He is a research affiliate at Refugee Law Initiative, School of Advanced Studies, University of London. Prior to this, he completed his undergraduate and graduate studies in the Department of Communication and Journalism at the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. Over the last 5 years, he has been actively engaged in the research and development field. Most notably, he served in the External Relations department at UNHCR Cox’s Bazar Station in Bangladesh. He also has experience in presenting papers at various international conferences and more than one year of job experience in various international development organizations such as UNICEF, TIB, and IID, as research associate.
Additionally, he has completed an online course with distinction on Refugee and Forced Migration studies from the University of Oxford. (May-July, 2023). He achieved the position of one of the 1200 finalists out of 52000 youth leaders (under 26 age) around the world by the Harvard Aspire Leaders Program 2023 cohort.
Mr. Tareq is dedicated to exploring the voices of vulnerable communities within the contexts of digital inclusion, digital anthropology, ICT for Education (ICT4E), and social justice.
