Wanting a broad, humanistic undergraduate educational before attending medical school, I chose to add Medical Humanities & Health Study as second major as well as Medical Sociology as a minor. Additionally, I am excited to learn about Neuroscience, one of the least discovered frontiers of the human system.
These professional experiences have confirmed my desire to uplift others through education. As a result, I wish to work with underrepresented population to improve their quality and access to healthcare in the future.
During my intership this semester, I displayed professionalism when communicating with my supervisor. It is crucial my supervisor knows when I will be coming in since I am responsible for presenting preliminary research on relevant topics and completing preparatory work for experiments. This work includes dissection and isolation of the necessary tissue samples that will be used in experiments as well as conducting experiments.
Knowing this, I let my supervisor know ahead of time of the times I would not be able to come in and suggested ways in which I would be able to make progress with my assigned tasks. These actions are in line with the team skills discussed above.
