When in your Google Drive, use these short cuts to open items without having to click all over!
Shift+T: Open a New Google Doc
Shift + P: Open a New Google Slides Presentation
Shift+S: Open a New Google Sheets
Shift +O: Open a New Google Form
Shift + D: Open a New Google Drawings
Shift +F: Create a new folder in your drive
Shift+A: Will select all items in your drive
Shift+Z: Allow you to place a copy of selected item in another location, ALL updates will occur in both locations. (Cannot place in Team Drive) **See Video below for the Add to Drive Feature**
Creating folders in your Google Drive helps you to organize your files. Also allows you to create sharing permissions for the contents of the folder.
By Right clicking on the folders in your drive you have several options for that particular folder.
You can simply organize your Drive a put files in a order that makes sense to you.
If you have files/folders that you frequently go to; "Star" them. Once they are starred they end up in the Starred Folder in your Google Drive.
This feature allows you to place a file in multiple locations in your Google Drive. The alternative location files will have a little curved arrow in the lower left hand corner to let you know it is not the original.
