Gaby & Vincent

Tapiru’s House is owned by Vincent and Gaby who live close by and it’s their pleasure to welcome you to this wonderful jungle in the beautiful Osa Peninsula. Here’s a little bit of background about your hosts.

Gaby was born and raised in the Drake Bay and wider Osa area. She has a lot of experience in tourism having both worked in and ran hotels. She is passionate about her community and as well as running accommodation and tours is a volunteer teacher for the local children and even finds time to practice her gifted gardening skills. Vincent grew up in the Guanacaste area of Costa Rica and as well as having a wealth of hospitality and guide experience, he is also a qualified scuba diving instructor and has worked in Europe and across the Americas filming and photographing wildlife on land and sea. It will come as no surprise that both are animal lovers and as well caring for their own 4 dogs, 2 cats and 2 chickens, they help rescue and re-home pets and collaborate in neutering campaigns in and around the Drake Bay area. Both speak fluent English as well as their native Spanish.

Both Vincent and Gaby are certified guides by the Costa Rican Tourism Institute ( ICT ), and have extensive experience of the area including both the Corcovado and Caño Island national parks. Their most popular tours include hiking, snorkeling, diving, whale watching and mangrove swamps but there are many, many more. They have an encyclopedic knowledge of all the creatures and plants this area has to offer on land, in the air and of course the sea.

Both are dedicated to not only supporting the local environment and it’s furry, feathered and scaled inhabitants but, the community too. Each year they organize a Christmas party for low-income communities arranging donations, gifts and aid to local schools.

Their passion is to share their knowledge with visitors and locals alike and their priority is to do everything they can to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. They understand how important your vacation time is and want to ensure you get the most out of your visit and of course hope to see you return to the area again and again.
