TAP (Teaching as a Profession) is a pathway that provides an opportunity for students to become aware of career options in education and nurtures their interest in teaching as a career. It ensures to prepare future teachers by learning educational philosophies, policies, attitudes, behaviors and instruction in order to effectively perform the duties associated with the position of teaching inside of classrooms.
This course delves into the multifaceted aspects of educators' roles, responsibilities, and impact on students and society. Ultimately, it aims to foster a deeper understanding of the complexities and importance of the teaching profession in shaping future generations.
This course explores current challenges and debates within the field, including topics like equity in access to education, the impact of technology on learning outcomes, and evolving teaching methodologies in response to diverse student needs and societal changes.
This course involves hands-on experience and reflection on the practical aspects of being an educator, focusing on developing instructional skills, classroom management techniques, and understanding professional responsibilities within the teaching profession.
*Students must complete both Course 1 and 2 classes before they are eligible for Course 3.
