TAP FOR TALES - TERMS OF USE

Last updated: 6 August 2026

1. WHO WE ARE AND WHAT THESE TERMS COVER

Tap For Tales is a mobile app that tells you stories about places around you. It

is provided by:

  Tap For Tales

18 Kunjvan Colony, Kesar Bagh Road

  Indore, Madhya Pradesh 452009

  India

  tap4tales@gmail.com

In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Tap For Tales, and "you" means you,

the person using the app.

These Terms of Use are the agreement between you and us for your use of the Tap

For Tales app on Android and iOS, including anything you buy inside it.

How we handle your personal information is covered separately in our Privacy

Policy, which forms part of this agreement.

2. ACCEPTING THESE TERMS

By downloading, opening or using Tap For Tales, you agree to these terms. If you

do not agree, please do not use the app.

3. WHO CAN USE TAP FOR TALES

Tap For Tales is made for a general audience. The stories are intended to be

suitable for all ages.

Having an account is different from reading a story, because an account means we

handle personal information about you - including your location, which is how

the app finds places near you. So:

  - You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. We do not knowingly

create accounts for, or collect personal information from, anyone under 13.

  - If you are between 13 and 18, you may only use the app with the permission

of your parent or guardian, and they must agree to these terms on your

behalf. If you are in India, the law requires us to obtain verifiable

consent from your parent or guardian before we process your personal data.

  - If you are under 18, please do not buy credits or city packs without your

parent's or guardian's permission. Both the Apple App Store and Google Play

provide parental controls and purchase approval, and we recommend parents

    turn them on.

If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 13, we will close it and

delete the information we hold. Parents and guardians can contact us at

tap4tales@gmail.com to ask about, or ask us to delete, a child's account.

You must also have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement, and you must

not be barred from using the app under the laws that apply to you.

4. YOUR ACCOUNT

You sign in with Google or Apple. You are responsible for keeping access to that

sign-in secure, and for everything that happens under your account.

Please give accurate information and keep it up to date. Do not share your

account, and do not use anyone else's.

One person, one account. Creating extra accounts to obtain free credits or to

get around a suspension is a breach of these terms.

5. LICENCE TO USE THE APP

We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable

licence to install and use Tap For Tales on devices you own or control, for your

own private, non-commercial use.

That licence is all you get. We keep all other rights.

You may not copy, sell, rent, sub-licence or redistribute the app; reverse

engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except to the extent the law says you

may; remove or hide any notice of ownership, authorship or attribution; or use

any automated system to access the app or the content in it.

6. CREDITS

Some features - such as generating a new story for a place - use credits.

Credits are a limited licence to use a feature of the app. They are not money,

not a stored-value account, not a wallet, not a gift card and not a currency.

They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and cannot be sold,

transferred or given to another account or another person.

You may receive credits by buying them, or from time to time for free as part of

a promotion or as a goodwill gesture. Free credits may be limited, withdrawn or

changed at any time.

Credits do not expire while your account is open and in good standing.

We may change how many credits a feature costs. If a change would increase the

cost of a feature, we will tell you in the app before it applies. Credits you

already hold will not be taken away by a price change.

If a story you paid credits for fails to generate because of a fault on our

side, the credits for that attempt are returned to your balance automatically.

If that does not happen, email tap4tales@gmail.com and we will put it right.

Credits are lost if you delete your account. Please spend them first. See

section 20.

7. CITY PACKS AND UNLOCKED STORIES

A city pack gives your account access to a set of stories for a city, and lets

you download them to your device so you can listen without a signal.

What a pack contains can change over time. Places close, facts get corrected,

stories get rewritten or replaced, and new ones get added. We do not promise

that any particular story, place, voice or language will stay in a pack forever.

Access to a pack is tied to your account, not to your device. If you sign in on

another device you can download the pack again there.

Downloading requires an internet connection and free space on your device. We do

not promise that any specific amount of content will fit on your device.

8. PURCHASES, BILLING AND REFUNDS

All purchases inside Tap For Tales are made through the Apple App Store or

Google Play. We do not take your card details and we do not process your

payment.

Your purchase is therefore also subject to the store's own terms. The store

decides how you are charged, in what currency, and what tax applies.

REFUNDS. Because the store takes the payment, refunds are handled by the store,

not by us:

  - Apple: request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com

  - Google Play: request a refund in Google Play, under your order history

We cannot reverse a store charge. What we can do is help - if something did not

work, email tap4tales@gmail.com and we will look into it, and we will support a

refund request where it is fair.

YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS. Nothing here removes any refund or cancellation right you

have under the consumer law where you live, including the Consumer Protection

Act, 2019 if you are in India. Note that in many places - including the UK and

the EU - the normal 14-day right to change your mind on a digital purchase ends

once the download or the digital content has started, if you agreed to that at

the time of purchase. Where that applies, it applies here.

Credits that have been spent are not refundable, because the service they paid

for has already been delivered.

9. STORIES ARE GENERATED BY AI - PLEASE READ THIS

Story text and narration in Tap For Tales are produced using artificial

intelligence, working from public information about places.

That means stories may be wrong. They may contain mistakes of fact, dates,

names, attribution or history. They may mix up similar places. They may include

detail that cannot be verified, or that is disputed by historians. They may

sound confident while being incorrect.

Tap For Tales is entertainment. It is not a reference work, not a guidebook you

should rely on, and not professional advice of any kind - not historical, legal,

medical, financial, travel or safety advice.

Do not rely on the app for:

  - whether a place is open, accessible, safe, free or ticketed

  - whether you are allowed to enter somewhere

  - directions, distances, road layout or transport

  - anything where being wrong would cost or harm you

Always check anything that matters against an authoritative source.

If you find a story that is wrong, offensive or inappropriate, please report it

in the app or email tap4tales@gmail.com. We do read reports. See also section

27, which sets out how complaints are handled and how quickly.

10. SAFETY WHILE USING THE APP OUTDOORS

Tap For Tales is used while walking around real places. Your safety is your

responsibility.

Pay attention to your surroundings, not to your phone. Do not use the app while

driving, riding, cycling or operating anything. Stop walking before you look at

the screen. Obey traffic signals and local law.

Do not trespass. A place appearing in the app does not mean you have any right

to enter it, be there, or be there at that time. Private property, places of

worship, restricted areas, protected monuments, closing times and local rules

all still apply.

Use your own judgement about where and when it is sensible to go. Do not follow

the app into anywhere unlit, unsafe, closed or off-limits.

Be considerate. Real people live and work at many of these places.

11. CONTENT YOU SUBMIT, AND CONTENT YOU GENERATE

When you ask the app to generate a story, you may provide input such as a place,

a theme or an instruction. You are responsible for what you submit.

Do not submit anything that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, defamatory,

obscene, sexually explicit, sexual content involving minors, or that infringes

someone else's rights. Do not submit other people's personal information. Do not

try to make the app produce that kind of content.

You confirm that you have the right to submit whatever you submit.

We may refuse, block, edit or remove any submission or generated story, at any

time, without notice, and without owing you an explanation - though we will try

to tell you why.

12. STORIES PUBLISHED TO THE SHARED LIBRARY

Tap For Tales has a shared library of stories about places. When a story is

generated for a place, it may be added to that library, so that other users who

come to the same place can read and hear it too. This is how the app grows.

By using the app you agree that:

  - stories generated through your use of the app may be published in that

    shared library and made available to other users;

  - to the extent you have any rights in the input you provided or in the

resulting story, you grant us a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable,

royalty-free, sub-licensable licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt,

translate, convert to speech, publish, distribute and display it in

    connection with Tap For Tales and its promotion;

  - you are not entitled to any payment for this;

  - published stories are shared catalogue content, not personal to your

account, and they stay in the library even if you later delete your

    account. See section 20.

You do not gain ownership of a generated story by spending credits on it. What

you get is access to it.

13. THINGS YOU MUST NOT DO

You must not:

  - break any law, or use the app for anything unlawful

  - interfere with, disrupt, overload or attack the app or our servers

  - try to get into any account, system or data that is not yours

  - probe, scan or test our security without our written permission

  - scrape, harvest, bulk-download, mirror or resell the stories, audio,

images, place data or map tiles in the app

  - use the app or its content to train a machine learning model

  - work around, disable or tamper with credits, purchases, entitlements or

any other limit or protection in the app

  - fake your location to obtain content, credits or rewards

  - impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your connection to anyone

  - harass, threaten or abuse other users or our staff

  - use the app commercially - for paid tours, resale or redistribution -

    without our written permission

14. REPORTING CONTENT

If a story is inaccurate, offensive, unsafe or infringes your rights, report it

in the app or email tap4tales@gmail.com with the place and the story so we can

find it.

If you are a rights holder and believe content in the app infringes your

copyright, email tap4tales@gmail.com with enough detail to identify the content

and your rights, and we will act on it promptly.

Complaint timelines are in section 27.

15. MAPS AND THIRD-PARTY DATA

The app shows maps and place information from third parties, including

OpenStreetMap contributors and our map tile providers. That data belongs to

them, is provided under their own licences, and their attribution is shown in

the app - please do not attempt to remove or obscure it.

The app also relies on third-party services for sign-in, payments, storage, AI

generation, speech and crash reporting. Those services are outside our control.

Their terms and their availability apply to them, not to us.

We are not responsible for third-party data being incomplete, out of date or

wrong, or for a third-party service being unavailable.

16. OUR INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The Tap For Tales name, logo, app, design, software and the story and audio

catalogue are owned by us or licensed to us. Nothing in these terms transfers

any of that to you.

You may share a story you found in the app with friends for personal, non-

commercial purposes, with credit to Tap For Tales. Anything beyond that needs

our written permission.

17. OFFLINE USE, STORAGE AND DATA CHARGES

The app stores content on your device so it can work offline: story text, audio,

images and map areas you have visited.

That stored content is a cache, not a backup. It can be removed by the app to

free space, by your phone's own storage management, or if you clear the app's

data, uninstall the app, or delete your account. We do not promise that anything

kept on your device will still be there later.

Downloading uses mobile data. Any charges from your network operator are yours.

We recommend downloading city packs on Wi-Fi.

Location, background audio and background downloads use battery. That is

inherent to what the app does.

18. CHANGES TO THE APP AND TO THESE TERMS

We are actively developing Tap For Tales. We may add, change, restrict or remove

features, content, languages, voices, cities or prices at any time. We may stop

offering the app altogether.

If we discontinue the app, we will give reasonable notice in the app where we

can, and we will not charge you for credits you can no longer use.

We may update these terms. If a change matters - for example to credits,

purchases, or your rights - we will tell you in the app or by email before it

takes effect, and we will change the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to

use the app after that means you accept the new terms. If you do not accept

them, stop using the app and you may close your account.

19. SUSPENDING OR CLOSING YOUR ACCOUNT

We may suspend or close your account, and remove your access to content and

credits, if you break these terms, if we reasonably believe you are abusing the

app or its purchase system, if we are required to by law, or to protect other

users or our service.

Where it is fair and practical to do so, we will warn you first and give you a

chance to put things right. For serious breaches - fraud, attacking the service,

illegal content - we may act immediately.

If we close your account for a reason that is not your fault, we will refund or

reinstate credits you had not yet spent.

20. DELETING YOUR ACCOUNT

You can delete your account in the app at any time, or by emailing

tap4tales@gmail.com. Details are on our account deletion page.

Please understand what deletion means:

  - it is permanent and cannot be undone

  - your profile, credit balance, purchase history, unlocked stories and owned

    city packs are removed

  - UNSPENT CREDITS ARE LOST AND ARE NOT REFUNDED - spend them first, or

contact us before deleting if you want to ask about a refund

  - stories already published in the shared library stay there, because they

    are shared catalogue content

  - purchase records held by Apple, Google and our payment processor are kept

for as long as tax and accounting law requires - we cannot delete those

What is deleted and what is kept is set out in full in our Privacy Policy.

21. NO WARRANTY

We provide Tap For Tales "as is" and "as available", and we do our best to make

it good.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranty that the app will be

uninterrupted, error-free or secure; that it will work on your particular device

or operating system version; that stories, audio, images, places or maps will be

accurate, complete or current; that content you have downloaded will remain

available; or that the app will meet your expectations.

Some countries do not allow certain warranties to be excluded. If you live

somewhere like that, this section applies to you only as far as the law allows,

and your statutory rights are unaffected.

22. LIMITS ON OUR LIABILITY

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused

by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be

limited. Your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.

Subject to that, and to the fullest extent the law allows:

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of

data, loss of goodwill, or wasted expenditure.

We are not liable for anything that happens to you while you are out using the

app - including injury, accident, arrest, trespass, loss or theft - because

where you go and how you behave there is your decision, not ours. See section

10.

We are not liable for loss caused by relying on AI-generated content. See

section 9.

Our total liability to you for all claims in any twelve-month period is limited

to the greater of the amount you actually paid us for the app in that period, or

USD 50 (or its equivalent in your currency).

23. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTES

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to the paragraph below,

the courts at Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India have exclusive jurisdiction over any

dispute arising out of them.

If you are a consumer, this does not remove the protection of the mandatory

consumer law of the country where you live, and you may also be able to bring a

claim before the courts or the consumer forum where you live.

Before starting any formal claim, please email tap4tales@gmail.com, or contact

our Grievance Officer under section 27. Almost everything can be sorted out that

way, and we would much rather fix your problem than argue about it.

24. ADDITIONAL TERMS FOR APPLE APP STORE DOWNLOADS

If you downloaded Tap For Tales from the Apple App Store, the following also

applies, and it overrides anything inconsistent above:

  - This agreement is between you and us only. It is not with Apple. Apple is

    not a party to it.

  - We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the app and its content.

  - Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app.

  - If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may tell Apple,

and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app to you. To the maximum

extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever

    with respect to the app.

  - We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claim by you or a third

party relating to the app or your possession and use of it, including

product liability claims, any claim that the app fails to conform to a

legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection or

    similar legislation.

  - We, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and

discharging any third-party claim that the app or your use of it infringes

    that party's intellectual property rights.

  - You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US

Government embargo or designated as a terrorist-supporting country, and

that you are not listed on any US Government list of prohibited or

    restricted parties.

  - You must comply with any applicable third-party terms of agreement when

    using the app.

  - Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this

section, and have the right to enforce it against you.

25. ADDITIONAL TERMS FOR GOOGLE PLAY DOWNLOADS

If you downloaded Tap For Tales from Google Play, your download and any purchase

inside the app are also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. Google is

not a party to this agreement and is not responsible for the app.

26. GENERAL

If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still

applies.

If we do not enforce something straight away, we have not given up the right to

enforce it later.

You may not transfer your rights under these terms to anyone else. We may

transfer ours if our business is sold or reorganised, as long as your rights are

not reduced.

These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between

us about the app.

27. GRIEVANCE OFFICER AND COMPLAINTS

In line with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology

(Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, the

following officer handles complaints about content in the app and about your use

of it:

Please put "Grievance" in the subject line, and tell us who you are, what the

complaint is about, and where in the app to find it.

We will acknowledge your complaint within 24 hours, and resolve it within 15

days of receiving it. Where a complaint concerns content that is unlawful,

obscene, impersonates someone, or is otherwise required to be removed on an

expedited basis, we will act as quickly as the law requires.
