Sid Davis (Music Director 🎹) is Director of Music and Fine Arts at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, Houston, where he oversees a robust program including music for children, youth, adults, the Rotunda Theater/Tapestry Players, and Rotunda Art Gallery. 🎶🎭🎨 He enjoys collaborating with major artists throughout the year, including Conspirare, VOCES8, and Howard Goodall. 🤝✨ A published composer/arranger, Sid is a Melodious Accord Fellow, studying under Alice Parker. 🎼 Touring with Fred Waring’s Pennsylvanians as a soloist and instrumentalist after graduating from Centenary College of Louisiana, he furthered his studies at the University of North Texas. 🎤🎺 Sid resides in Houston with wife, Cindy. 🏡💙
Margaret LeBrun (Smize 😊) is excited to be a part of this talented cast of performers in yet another Tapestry Players production! Her recent credits include Sister Mary Robert in Sister Act, Sarah in The Man Who Came to Dinner, and Philostrate in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. When she isn’t on stage, Margaret is working as an engineer at NASA 🚀 and singing as part of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church’s Chancel Choir 🎶. She wants to thank her family, friends, and her wonderful partner Efren for all their love and support 💙✨.
Adam (Sunny 😎) is thrilled to make his debut with Tapestry Players in this exciting and colorful production of EMOJILAND: The Musical! He is a Houston-based actor/performer with previous credits with AD Players (Scarecrow/Hunk in The Wizard of Oz), Houston Grand Opera (Rolf Gruber in The Sound of Music), and Melchior Gabor in Rec Room Arts’ award-winning production of Spring Awakening. Adam received the 2019 Tommy Tune Award for Best Actor, as well as the “Spirit of the Jimmy’s” award at the National High School Musical Theater Awards. He extends heartfelt thanks to his mentors Jack Beetle and Dylan Godwin, and would like to thank Bobby Linhart for introducing him to the world of theater. 🌟🎭

Efren Calderon (Nerd Face 🤓) returns to the Tapestry Players stage after last being seen as Sweaty Eddy in Sister Act, as well as Sandy in The Man Who Came to Dinner.
His most recent credits outside of Tapestry Players include Flappy Squirrel in Main Street Children’s Theatre for Youths’ world premiere musical, The Pigeon Gets a Big Time Holiday Extravaganza, and Blaine in Garden Theatre’s production of Cruel Intentions: The ’90s Musical. In his free time, Efren loves to spend time with his friends and family, enjoys video games, and creating as much art as he possibly can. 🎮🎨 All the love in the world to his bestest friends, family, and his all-time number one supporter and partner, Margaret LeBrun. 💙✨
James Hamrick (Skull 💀) is an actor, playwright, and teaching artist based in Houston. His professional credits include the feature film Devil’s Knot (opposite Colin Firth and Reese Witherspoon) and stage roles such as Bobby in Company, Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet, and Dickon in The Secret Garden. 🎭
James works with Theatre Under the Stars as a Teaching Artist in their Disney Musicals in Schools program, where he is currently directing and music directing The Lion King KIDS at Paige Elementary, and is also assistant directing Finding Nemo KIDS at the Evelyn Rubenstein JCC. In addition to his work in theatre, he teaches private voice lessons to performers of all ages.
This is his first time working with Tapestry Players, though he grew up performing with Pure Sound Musicals and credits St. Luke’s United Methodist Church with laying the foundation for his artistic career. When not performing or teaching, James enjoys D&D 🎲, spending time with his family, and is thrilled to be part of Emojiland. 💙✨
Alexandra Szeto-Joe (Princess 👑) is thrilled to be back at Tapestry Players! She previously appeared in The Summer’s Tale (Konstantina) and Leading Ladies (Audrey). Alexandra is a professional actress who lives and performs in both Houston and the NYC area. She made her debut at The Alley Theatre last summer in The Mirror Crack’d (Cherry Baker), and loved it so much she returned as a Female Swing in A Christmas Carol. Select credits include The Heart Sellers ❤️ (Stages), POTUS (Stages), Becky Nurse of Salem (Capital Repertory Theatre), As You Like It (Catskill Mountain Shakespeare), and the Christmas at Pemberley 🎄 series at Main Street Theater (2021–2023). Alexandra was recently named a standout actor in Houston Press’s “Ones to Watch in Houston’s Theater Scene 2025–2026,” and was named a finalist for Best Supporting Actress last year for her portrayal of Irina in Three Sisters at Classical Theatre Company. Jake Woodson (Prince 🫅) is thrilled, delighted, and living his absolute best life to be appearing in his fifteenth show with Tapestry Players 💅✨. A Houston-based actor, singer, and choral conductor 🎭🎶, Jake spent seven years teaching choir, where his ensembles routinely earned top ratings at contest (yes, that’s a humble brag 🏆). He previously served as the Region 13 Middle School/Junior High Choral Coordinator and has conducted choirs all across Texas—and internationally, including performances in Ireland 🇮🇪✨.
When he’s not waving his arms dramatically or singing in someone’s general direction, Jake performs professionally around Houston, most notably with Cantare Houston 🎤💖. By day (and sometimes night), he also serves as the full-time administrator for Tapestry Players, keeping the spreadsheets tight, the emails sent, and the theatre chaos ✨organized✨ 📋😌.

Staci Merritt (Construction Worker 👷♀️) is grateful to be part of her sixth production with Tapestry Players! Previous Tapestry credits include Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Perdita in The Summer’s Tale. A proud graduate of Houston’s High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, Staci went on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from Nebraska Wesleyan University.
She has also performed in New York, where she lived for several years and worked at The Public Theater. Staci most recently worked in Los Angeles with Vanishing Point Entertainment, where she is represented by MPM Models & Talent. She is now an educator with The Spotlight Project of Houston.
She would like to dedicate this performance to her grandfather, who recently passed at the age of 87. He was a proud blue-collar worker of South Central Bell Telephone Company who knew what he stood for. 💙
Lydia (Pile of Poo 💩) grew up in a household filled with music and began singing alongside her family at a young age. By learning to harmonize with her mother and singing with her dad as he played guitar, Lydia developed a deep love for music and a natural ability to connect with others through song. She went on to cultivate her talents at Columbus State University, eventually pursuing her passion professionally. 🎤🎵
When life brought her to Texas in 2017, Lydia began looking for places to share her music and found St. Luke’s United Methodist Church and Tapestry Players. Through Tapestry Players, Lydia has performed both onstage and behind the scenes in 15 plays and musicals. Some of her favorite roles include Margo (Bright Star), Lowbutt (Honk!), and Sister Mary Martin of Tours (Sister Act). Most recently, Lydia performed with Christina Wells and the Christina Wells Band at the Hobby Center in two sold-out performances of Divas Through the Decades. 🌟🎶
Eric (Person in Business Suit Levitating 🕴️) is a multi-faceted creator and performer who has been involved in music and theatre since kindergarten. He is formally trained in acting, directing, vocal music, choral conducting, classical piano, drawing, and watercolors. Eric’s theatrical work has been seen in Texas, New Mexico, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and California. He has toured with concert productions across the United States and Canada, and abroad in Holland, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, France, and Italy. 🌍🎭

Now in his 33rd year in education, Eric has served as Professor of Theatre and Artistic Director of Theatre at LSC–Kingwood for 23 years. He earned his Master of Fine Arts degree in Acting and Directing from Texas Tech University in 2003 and also holds a bachelor’s degree in vocal music education (TTU ’93). He taught theatre, music, art, and speech in the Texas public schools for seven years, teaching all levels from kindergarten through 12th grade. 🎓👏
Graham (Guard 💂) is thrilled to rejoin this fun group of people for the high-energy production of Emojiland. Graham made his Tapestry Players debut in 2023 in the production Welcome to the Renaissance and has since appeared in Bright Star, The Summer’s Tale, Pride and Prejudice, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Kay Stuart (Information Desk Person 💁♀️) is a versatile performer with a strong background in musical theater, acting, and dance. She has been involved in theater from a young age and thrives both in leading roles and ensemble-driven productions. Her early performance experience includes portraying Sandy in Grease Jr. and Jasmine in Aladdin Jr., where she showcased her vocal strength, stage presence, and ability to connect with audiences.
She has performed in multiple productions with Sealy American Legion Summer Theater, including The Music Man and The King and I, gaining valuable experience in classic musical theater repertoire and ensemble work. At Blinn College–Brenham, she further developed her craft as a member of the Musical Theater Ensemble, performing in group numbers as well as a featured solo.
Her recent acting credits include Mrs. Daisy Stanley in The Man Who Came to Dinner with Tapestry Players, as well as ensemble and featured dance roles in Cinderella. Kay is passionate about storytelling, collaboration, and continued growth as a performer, and she is excited to pursue new opportunities both onstage and behind the scenes. ✨🎭
Lauren (Kissy Face 😘) can’t help feeling that it’s just so great to be alive and part of this fabulous cast! This is Lauren’s fifth show with Tapestry Players, having previously appeared in The Summer’s Tale, Sister Act! (Sister Mary Patrick), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Titania), and Cinderella. Most recently, she played Chris in Dancing at Lughnasa at Theatre Suburbia. She’s thrilled to bring Kissy Face to life in Emojiland and is grateful to her cast, David, Sid, and Tapestry Players for being the best team a gal could ask for! 💋✨💛
Scott (Pregnant Person🫃/Hamster Face 🐹) is a Houston-born and Houston-based actor who is no stranger to the wonderful folks of Tapestry Players. 🎭💙 You might recognize his work from their previous productions of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, Almost, Maine, and Beauty and the Beast: An Enchanted Retelling. ✨
Scott can also be seen (and heard!) in a variety of other projects. In the English language dubs of Oshi no Ko (Kiiro Hayashibara), Urusei Yatsura 2022 (Hiroyuki), as well as A Couple of Cuckoos. He is immensely proud of the work he’s done within online media with Dropout.TV’s Crowd Control and the viral video, The Virtual Toad Choir Presents: SILENT NIGHT. 🌟

Travis Larsen (Angry Face 😡 / Clown Face 🤡) is honored to be performing in his 13th production with Tapestry Players. Some of his recent roles include Beast in Beauty and the Beast; Lendall in Almost, Maine; Beverly Carlton in The Man Who Came to Dinner; and Lysander in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Travis is deeply grateful to his wonderful wife, Erin, and their two amazing daughters, Morgan and Eleanor, for always being in the front row at each show and for turning all of his Angry Faces into Clown Faces. ❤️🎭
Andrew Stuart (Thinking Face 🤔) feels so thankful to be a part of this orbital cast of artists! This is Andrew’s third Tapestry Players production, previously appearing as Helga/Spindleshanks in Beauty and the Beast: An Enchanted Retelling and Prince Topher in Cinderella. Getting to tackle new and varied characters in this welcoming, supportive space has been a true privilege of creative adventure. Every day with the Tapestry Players is a day that lifts the spirit! Hayden (Worried Face 😰) is thankful to be in his 15th Tapestry Players show and his sixth with the David/Sid dynamic duo. Favorite roles include The Chairman in Drood, Billy Cane in Bright Star, Lion in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Light/Sound Operator in Tapestry’s moments of desperation. He most recently appeared in Incident at Vichy at Theater Southwest. The rest of his non–St. Luke’s free time is spent with his lovely wife, Patty, his cats, Zuzu and Boo, movies, and board games. 🎬🎲🐾
David Bruce (Father Christmas 🎅) is joining for his first show with Tapestry Players! David is primarily a choral singer and educator working throughout the Houston area. His most recent performances have been with Mercury Singers and Suono. David is a voice teacher, working with singers interested in opera, musical theatre, pop, and more! 🎶
David is also a Staff Singer with the St. Luke’s UMC Choirs, and is the Director of Sonos, a youth chamber choir here at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. ✨🎄
Maestro Cristian Guzman (Keyboard 1) is a multifaceted artist who has established himself as a talented pianist, organist, collaborative artist, and music director. He has performed at Carnegie Hall and delivered a festival-closing rendition of Liszt’s "Waltz Mephisto" at Spain’s International Piano Festival de Gijón. Guzman currently freelances as a music director across Houston’s operatic and musical theater scenes, recently performing repetiteur pianist for Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi alongside Operativo Houston (2025). Trained under Pilar Leyva (student of Claudio Arrau, a direct disciple of Franz Liszt), he carries a legendary musical lineage. As a music director, maestro Guzman has also directed operas such as Menotti’s The Telephone and The Old Maid and the Thief, and performed alongside Metropolitan Opera stars such as Victoria Livengood. His active engagements include directing productions and recitals across the U.S. and Colombia.
Melisa Gultan (Keyboard 1 on 1/29) is a Turkish singer, pianist, and organist who relocated to Houston in 2021. Her musical journey began at the age of eight when she passed the young talent exam to study piano under Zerin Rasul at Bilkent University Music Preparatory School. Melisa continued music education at Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory, concentrating on voice with renowned instructors Keriman Davran and Maia Mari Chikhradze. Currently, Melisa studies piano with Scott Holshouser and jazz piano under the guidance of Gary Norian. She plays keyboard in Texas Jazz Workshop under the direction of Dr. Woody Witt and is a staff accompanist at Moores School of Music.
A native of Taiwan, Cloud Wang (Keyboard 2) plays multiple music instruments including piano, pipe organ, percussion, handbells, and carillon. In 2010, she received a scholarship at Berklee College of Music in Boston to major in jazz vibraphone and steel drum performance. The same year she also received second prize for vibraphone in the Italy Percussion Competition in Fermo, Italy.
Cloud’s musical journey started from playing percussion at the music theatre orchestra when she was a student at Berklee. She also played at the community theatre in the Boston area. The first musical she played was the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and her most unique and unforgettable opportunity was when she played the musical A Little Princess, the composer Andrew Lippa was the special guest at one of the shows, so she went to shake hands and took photos with him.
Currently Cloud stays active as a professional musician in the Houston area. She has worked for various school districts as a piano accompanist and pit musician. As a huge musical fan, her highest record thus far was playing 4 musicals in 2 months and one time she learned an entire musical in 3 days before the performance. It sounds crazy, but she really enjoys being a part of every musical production.
Besides the musical, she is a well-known handbell tree soloist at churches and the handbell world. The bell tree technique with 4 mallets skill is her specialty and passion, she had been a faculty at the National Bell Tree conference “Into the Forest” in the past few years. Her article “Branching Out- The Art of Four Mallets on the Bell Tree” was published on the Overtone Magazine from the Handbell Musician of America (the National Handbell guide organization) in summer 2025.
She has performed numerous concerts in United States, Taiwan, South Korea, Italy, and Trinidad and Tobago. Outside of music Cloud enjoys international traveling, cooking, and trying different restaurants.
Emory Daniel (Bassist) is the orchestra director at Haskett Junior High in Katy ISD. During his tenure since 2022, he has grown the program from under 65 students to over 120. Mr. Daniel’s orchestras consistently receive Sweepstakes ratings at UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Contests. Mr. Daniel is also co-director of the Katy Youth Symphony, a local youth orchestra program based in Katy, Texas. In addition, he plays professionally as a bassist for both the Symphony of Southeast Texas in Beaumont and the Trinity Klein Lutheran Church in Spring.
Before directing at Haskett Junior High, Mr. Daniel was the Associate Orchestra Director at Clements High School (Fort Bend ISD; Sugar Land, TX) where the varsity ensemble was recognized as a 2020 TMEA Honor Orchestra finalist. In 2017, he received the Rookie Teacher of the Year award at T.H. McDonald Junior High (Katy ISD; Katy, TX).
Along with his public education career, Mr. Daniel teaches double bass privately. His students have received TMEA All-State honors as well as UIL State Solo & Ensemble Outstanding Performer recognition. Students have been accepted to prestigious festivals including the Interlochen Arts Camp, the Brevard Music Festival, the Boston University Tanglewood Institute, the National Youth Orchestra, and the Verbier Musical Festival. Prior students have continued to study music at the collegiate level including the University of Houston, Texas State University, Texas Tech, and Rice University.
Mr. Daniel earned undergraduate degrees at the University of Georgia (UGA) in Double Bass Performance and Music Education. He spent his summers studying at the Interlochen Arts Camp, the Brevard Music Festival, and the Conservatorio de Antonio Vivaldi in Italy. After UGA he completed graduate work at Indiana University at the Jacobs School of Music. Professionally he has performed with the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra, the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and served as principal bassist for the Brazosport Symphony Orchestra, the Athens Symphony Orchestra, and the Orquesta Sinfónica de La Salta in Argentina.
In his free time Mr. Daniel loves to travel with his wife, Rebecca, watch college football, as well as spend time with their two pets, Kiki and Jojo. Mr. Daniel is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association, the Texas Orchestra Directors Association, and the Texas Music Adjudicators Association.
Josh Wharton (Percussion) is a freelance percussionist in the Houston area. He is currently on the Bridges faculty teaching drum set lessons. You can hear him play regularly in the Tapestry Players productions, as well as occasionally for the various choirs here at St. Lukes. His day job is being a stay at home dad to two wonderful kids, a 6 year old girl and a 3 year old boy.
