Chapter 022 - 2001.02.05

  • I'm not 100% sure about this date.

  • The year may be off,

    • but I found this date in my history log file -

      • indicating three photos of the original prototype of something I called:

        • 3D6V.

  • I can't even recall what version I created first.

  • I could not find those three photos from 2001 -

    • instead this is the first photo I can find -

      • the date on this is 27 Jan 2003.

  • It's a 6x6x6 version of the 3D6V creation.

  • A demo version -

    • that demonstrates that mini-cubes positioned in 3D space can create -

      • six (6) different 2D image views.

  • Thus the made up name for the creation:

    • 3D6V.

  • You might notice that -

    • a 5x5x5 version of this was used heren -

      • to create the TAPable dynamic logo.

  • I imagined several different applications of the 3D6V.

  • I even used it before to try to brand a different creation:

    • iCubis.

  • You will also find it as the basis of my World Trade Center Memorial submission -

    • as a 23x23x23 application of 3D6V.

  • Applications included:

    • 3D games

    • 3D desktop calendars

    • 3D marketing displays

    • 3D light-effects globes

  • The coolest and most practical is the dynamic 3D6V branding application ,

    • like seen herein.

    • Just click on the video to play it.

  • To the right is a 3x3x3 game structure prototype.

  • Foam mini-cubes and a wooden framework structure.'

  • The challenge is to get all six (6) sides -

    • revealing all six (6) complete images.

  • Where the above photo is just one of the six (6) side views.
