TapKids is hiring youth, young adults or adults for the summer job in June to August to plan and run our Sunday school and VBS.

JOB DESCRIPTION
We are hiring youth / young adults ages 15 (current Grade 11 students) to 30 for the summer internship.
OBJECTIVE
The objective of the summer internship is to provide young leaders opportunities to
● Learn and gain practical experience in volunteer ministry with children and families
● Learn leadership skills and be trained through teamwork for future vocation
● Grow in the personal relationship with Jesus Christ and develop care for the community through active service
● Play an integral part in planning and implementing summer programs for TapKids ministry
REQUIREMENTS
● Personal and living faith in Jesus Christ
● Desire to participate in ministering to children that range in ages, needs, and stages of development (preschool through middle school)
● Experience, skill and knowledge in working with children
● Good personal skills and organizational skills
● Desire to collaborate and work as a team
● Ability to lead small/large groups of children
● Ability to create and implement ideas, programs, and experiences
● Experience with organizing Vacation Bible School, Sunday School and Children programs
● Applicants have to pass the Criminal Record Check required by legislation
EMPLOYMENT PERIOD AND WORKING HOURS
(Number of positions and employment periods are subject to Government Summer Job Grant approval)
Two positions:
● one position from Jun 3 to Aug 30, 2024 (for the 13-week position)
● one position from July 1 to Aug 30, 2024 (for the 9-week position)
Working days and hours:
● Tuesday to Friday, and Sunday
● 30 hours per week
Special schedule for VBS: July 15-19 and July 29 to Aug 2
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
SUMMER SUNDAY SCHOOL
Work with the ministry director to:
o Schedule volunteers
o Plan, prepare and run the Sunday program
o Prepare materials for lessons and provide resources for leaders
o Coordinate events
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
Work with the ministry director to:
o Provide oversight of volunteer teams for both activities and groups
o Ensure health and safety teams are organized, informed, and equipped
o Ensure all activity leaders have the required materials and resources
o Provide oversight to grouping and organization of children
o Assist training sessions before VBS
o Assist in group orientation, and lead as needed
o Assist in the construction of props, sets, staging
o Organize group leaders' materials, packages, and lists
o Plan and oversee field-trips
TAPKIDS’ SUMMER EVENTS
Work with the ministry director to:
o Assist in organizing, planning and running events at the local campus
