When I was in elementary school I started writing poems and songs and was an avid journal keeper. As I grew up that love of writing, both songs and stories, grew with me. As an angsty teen, with struggles of self esteem, friends, and everything else a teen has to go through, writing was my outlet, therapy, and joy.
In the 11th grade I had a teacher, Mr. Miller, who helped me to channel and take what I loved and turn it into a published piece. I never thought would happen again. As I went on in theatre to college, left college to have a family, and then became a teacher, writing has never left me, but publication was really never something I thought possible.
I worked as an editor and contributor to the ldswriters website in the early days of internet expansion, making many friends and editing along the way as well, discovering and renewing my joy of writing. I started at that time a novel, that I put away shortly after my grandfather passed away and a partial miscarriage.
I went back to school, finished my English degree: writing papers, stories, and poetry again, all for grades, but still joyful. As a teacher and mother and director of theatre, not a lot of time was left for writing and I would pull out the novel every once in awhile only to put it back away.
In the fall of 2021, I was invited to and attended a workshop with Richard Paul Evans, joined a writing group, and attended a retreat where my novel was revived and my joy and passion for writing renewed my spirit and life again. Thank you to all my friends through Authorready.com and Richard Paul Evans for inspiring me and helping me find that part of myself again.
I hope as you enjoy my works here and hopefully in other forms you will feel my love for my family, nature, God and all that this life has to offer us.
