Career Goal Narrative
There are many different fields of engineering, but after much consideration I have chosen Aerospace Engineering. That will be my focus for these coming years. After my mother recommended it to me because she thought it would be a great fit for me, I decided to go for it. I then got accepted into the program as a sophomore unexpectedly. I hope to make my Grandpa Max proud (he was in the Air Force) for some years.
I have not yet taken any direct classes to aid in my career choice because I just decided on what I wanted to do. I plan to do that moving forward in the next coming 2 years. I do not have much to say in this paragraph but I will be taking classes to further my career choice.
My extracurricular activities in school was wrestling, outside of school have been horseback riding, swimming, and volleyball. Each of these programs taught me something different about myself. What I like, what I dont…but I have enjoyed them all. I've learned patience, team building, strength, all have shaped me into putting my focus into my mind. Seeing how things work are put together and molded. I've worked odd jobs with family members and I know once I put my mind to something I can do it.
My immediate plans after high school would be to attend Maryland University’s program for Engineering. It is close to home and I've heard it's a great program to be a part of. I'd like to learn as much as I can, and be an apprentice for as long as its felt needed. I'm not sure if I'd like to join the workforce right away or explore my options at that point, too early to tell. Check back in a year or 2.
I'd like to positively affect my community in many ways such as passengers on an airplane getting on more comfortably and safely. Again this is an early dream of mine, so much of my hopes are goals are minimal at this point. All I know is I'm interested in Aerospace, how it works and why. I'm taking it from there on my journey.
