Additive manufacturing for printing pharmaceutical oral solid dosage (OSD) forms (9 months)

  • Review and selection of additive manufacturing and coating techniques for OSD preparation.

Gas-mixing based rapid humidity control of fuel cells (6 months)

  • Humidity control in fuel cells by controlling the flows of mixing dry and wet air/fuel.

Distillation column design using ASPEN PLUS (6 months)

  • System: Propane-Isobutane of feed composition 40 and 60 mol% respectively.

  • Specifications for products: Propane 98 mol% at top and Isobutane 99 mol% at the bottom.

  • The distillation column is designed using the RADFRAC model of ASPEN PLUS and the number of trays required was calculated as 40.

  • Level controllers (2) were also installed to control the levels in reflux and reboiler drums and the response of these controllers to a step-change in set-point was studied.
