Tanmaya Mishra Gravitational-Wave Astrophysicist, PhD Research Fellow Institute of Cosmology & Gravitation University of Portsmouth
Hi,
I am a Research Fellow at the University of Portsmouth, working on searches for binary black hole mergers using gravitational-wave data and on improving the PyCBC search pipeline with machine learning techniques. I completed my PhD at the University of Florida, where I worked on gravitational-wave data analysis under the supervision of Prof. Sergey Klimenko.
I am a member of the LIGO Scientific Collaboration and specialize in the Coherent WaveBurst algorithm for identifying and characterizing gravitational-wave signals. My research focuses on binary black hole searches, machine learning applications in gravitational-wave astronomy, and intermediate-mass black holes in the pair-instability supernova mass gap.
Outside of research, I enjoy playing the guitar, sketching, cooking, and exploring local coffee shops.
