My name is Tangyou Huang (黄堂友). I'm currently a permanent researcher at Chalmers University of Technology. I received my Ph.D. from Shanghai University in 2022, where I studied quantum optimal control and shortcuts to adiabaticity in cold-atom systems. After that, I worked briefly on AI for quantum technology at Shanghai Qizhi Institute. From 2023 to 2026, I was a postdoctoral researcher working on superconducting quantum computing at MC2 Chalmers within WACQT, and since June 2026 I have continued there as a staff scientist.
My research lies at the intersection of quantum science and technology, quantum optimal control, and machine learning. I work across theory and experiment, with a particular interest in quantum computing. Outside academia, I enjoy hiking, skiing, and spending time outdoors.
Research interests
I am interested in using quantum optimal control and machine learning to advance practical quantum technologies.
My research is motivated by two central questions:
(i) How can one learn and enhance quantum technoloies using artificial intelligence?
(ii) How can one optimally manipulates quantum system in the presence of nonlinearities, errors and noises?
Keywords: Optimal Control; Quantum Information Processing; AI for Quantum Science; Superconducting qubits; Shortcuts to Adiabaticity.
