Funding Support for Singapore Citizen (SC) Students
The cost of the device bundle can be paid using your child’s/ward’s Edusave account, after setting aside provision for payment of miscellaneous fees.
To ensure the affordability of devices, MOE has provided Edusave top-ups of $200 in 2020 to 2022, and $300 in 2023, to all eligible Singaporean students in primary and secondary schools.
This is on top of theannual $290 credited into the Edusave account for Secondary School studentsand$230 for Primary School students.
Financial Assistance
Subsidies are available for students who require funding support to purchase a PLD.
Please note that it is compulsory for all students on the MOE Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS) to use their Edusave to pay for the PLD, after subsidies have been granted.
Students on the Discretionary Financial Assistance (DFA) support who are eligible for PLD subsidies are strongly encouraged to use their Edusave to pay for the PLD to enjoy further subsidies, where required, to reduce cash outlay.
Please see the table below for information on the eligibility for the subsidy.
For more details, please approach the school.
Student-Owned Devices
For students using their personal iPads from home for lessons in school, DMA must be installed as well. Please note that a backup of all data and afactory reset must be done on the iPad before bringing it to school for DMA installation.
To install DMA in the students’ personal iPads to use in school, there is a minimum set of specifications that the iPad must meet. Please see the specifications below.
If you are unsure if the iPad fulfills the requirements, please bring them to school for our ICT Support Team to take a look for you.
Collection of Devices
The default mode of collection is at school, where form teachers and vendors will run through a device checklist with students during collection to ensure the device is in good working condition and to verify its condition.
Parents who are concerned that their child/ward may not be able to properly verify the condition of the computing device can notify the school through the form teachers, and arrange to either collect the computing device personally or appoint an adult proxy such as the form teacher.
In the event that the student is absent on the collection day, parents can authorise the form teacher as the adult proxy to collect it on their behalf. The PLD will be handed over to the student upon their return to school.
