Sacrifice
Sacrifice

Assigning quizzes and teaching with vigor,
Why continue, when to do so is to stay mediocre?
Handing out homeworks and giving test scores,
Why stay the same, when you could be something more?
Blessed with wings that can reach incredible heights,
Yet why do you remain on the ground and dim your lights?
Graced with intellect and a heart of gold,
Why stay a teacher, when you could aim for the top of the world?
Although, can water really be deemed wasted
When used for watering seedlings rather than for drinking?
You taught me that teaching is much more than just guiding.
That it comes, like bread and butter,
With the will to sacrifice one’s self for others.
