IN THE EYES OF AN ALMIGHTY

What the world says:
“Without men, women can do nothing.”
“Women should have fair skin, a beautiful body, and a pretty face.”

What the Bible says:
"Nevertheless, in the Lord woman is not independent of man nor man of woman; for as woman was made from man, so man is now born of woman. And all things are from God." (1 Corinthians 11-12)
“I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” (Psalm 139:14)
Discrimination against women happens all over the world. Women are judged by their looks and clothing, discriminated against in workplaces, and sometimes stripped of their rights.
Women are strong. During the quarantine period, I spent my spare time watching Tiktok. Body shaming comments would mostly be present in the videos by female creators.
“You’re as thin as a stick.”
“You need to start losing weight.”
“Crop tops are meant for pretty people, lol.”
However, despite these rude comments, the creators would defend themselves and help uplift other creators who experience similar conditions.
Sometimes I myself doubt my abilities and become insecure about how I look. Nevertheless, I always remind myself that we are all created uniquely and beautifully.
The Bible is considered “The word of God” to Christians, Catholics, Jews, and other connected faiths. This is where man learns more about God; through the Bible as He is said to speak to everyone. The Bible states a lot of admirable things written by a man with wisdom from God. Here, we can also find scriptures or texts that provide encouragement and assurance. As I bring up and encourage women, here are some reminders along with verses that support them:
You are beautiful.
Imperfections, flaws, and comparing ourselves to other people is are because of these things that we feel insecure about.
“I wish I had a beautiful, and pointy nose.”
“I wish I was as white as hershe.”
“I wish my body was as beautiful as hers.”
I wish.. I wish... I wish… Seeing influencers always makes us doubt our own beauty. However, despite all of our imperfections, we should always be reminded that we are all created distinctively and wonderfully.
“For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.”
Psalm 139:13-14
“But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
1 Samuel 16:7
We should always remember that we are God’s perfect masterpiece. He made everything about us unique.
2. You have a purpose.
Women tend to experience discrimination. Most people look down on the capabilities of women.
“Women are meant to be in the house doing all the household chores.”
Because of these this sayings, some women look down upon themselves, thinking that all they can do is do household chores. However, I believe that women have great potential and capabilities when they trust themselves and don’t give up. The trials we face always have a meaning. Our life is significant. We have purposes in life. There’s a reason why you’re part of this world. You have been brought to this world because you have a purpose, and the Lord has beautiful plans for you. Just think about how YOU came to God’s mind and how He planned to create you. How He carefully planned your life. He plansplanned it marvelously for us. We shouldn’t let them all go to waste.
““For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.””
Jeremiah 29:11
“Many are the plans in a person’s heart,
but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”
Proverbs 19:21
3. You have the right to speak.
The fear of being judged... The fear of being rejected because of what we say... The doubt is always there. That, or we were stripped of our right to speak. Even if we women still speak out their thoughts, people will say:
“She’s too talkative”
“Women are supposed to be reserved.”
Just like what Veronica Rueckert said, “This is the tightrope women walk. If we speak too much, we’re seen as pushy or aggressive; we face a backlash. If we don’t speak at all, we’re relegated to the sidelines and run the risk of being perceived as passive and ineffectual.”
However, the truth is, if women don’t speak up and share their thoughts and ideas, our world will not change. Your opinion matters. Your idea matters. In the Bible, when Jesus rose from the dead, He entrusted the message of His resurrection to women. He told Mary to spread the news to His disciples.
“The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.””
Matthew 28:5-7
Women, girls, ladies, hold your head high not only for yourself but also for other women. You are beautiful, you have a purpose, and you have the right to speak. Do not be afraid of what others think about you. You are who you are.
“Each time a woman stands up for herself, without knowing it possibly, without claiming it, she stands up for all women.”
-Maya Angelou
