My research broadly focuses on population health and the social determinants of health and mortality. I am also interested in assessing methodological tools used to study health and wellbeing. My recent projects have assessed the association between physical functioning and mortality among older adults and how this relationship varies by race and ethnicity, and my current research examines work as a contributor to inequality in health at older ages. I am also interested in the unequal burden of COVID-19 and its social and behavioral determinants. My work has appeared in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Social Science & Medicine, The Journals of Gerontology: Social Sciences, American Journal of Public Health, and Epidemiology, among other outlets.
