Technology and Personal Computers
Creating magic through technology.
The Internet of things (IoT) describes physical objects (or groups of such objects) with sensors, processing ability, software, and other technologies that connect and exchange data with other devices and systems over the Internet or other communications networks. Internet of things has been considered a misnomer because devices do not need to be connected to the public internet, they only need to be connected to a network and be individually addressable.
“Home automation” refers to the automatic and electronic control of household features, activity, and appliances. In simple terms, it means you can easily control the utilities and features of your home via the Internet to make life more convenient and secure, and even spend less on household bills.
IoT system architecture is often described as a four-stage process in which data flows from sensors attached to “things” through a network and eventually on to a corporate data center or the cloud for processing, analysis and storage. In the Internet of Things, a “thing” could be a machine, a building or even a person.
