The Law and Sun Beds and Sun Showers
Here at Tan Box, we take your health and safety seriously. For that reason, all of our sunbeds are 0.3 compliant. But what does this mean?
The regulations governing the maximum UV output of sunbeds is referred to as 0.3 and is approved by the EU and complies with all British and European consumer safety regulations. Anything above 0.3 is deemed unsafe. A 0.3 tanning session delivers the same tanning effect as the mid-day Mediterranean summer but without the risk of burning (Sunbed Association)
What that means for you is that our sunbeds are fully compliant with EU and British regulations and are as safe as possible. The main benefits for you are:
A deeper, longer lasting tan
A gentler, kinder tanning process for your skin
A much lower risk of over exposure and burning

Indoor tanning creams
We often get asked if an outdoor tanning lotion can be used instead . The simple answer is NO and here's why
You don't need SPF protection for indoor tanning: outdoor suntan lotions contain SPF protection, indoor lotions do not
Indoor tanning lotions enhance the effect of UV rays. The SPF found in outdoor lotions block both UVA and UVB rays
Regular suntan lotions are designed to protect you over long periods. Indoor tanning lotions are designed for short, intense indoor tanning sessions
Many high-quality indoor tanning lotions contain
natural oils that helps intensify your tan
vitamin D
aloe vera to give your skin extra moisture because dry skin reflects UV light so you can be wasting up to 50% of your tanning session. Skin conditioning may just be the most important and often overlooked part of the tanning process
Outdoor suntan lotions damage the acrylic material that tanning beds are made of
