PASAKA FESTIVAL

The local government transformed the site into a memorial park, where the names of those who perished during the typhoon are inscribed. HAIYAN HOTEL and RESTAURANT
The Haiyan Hotel and Restaurant, located in Tanauan, Leyte, was originally a food establishment called Haiyan Foodstop, built in 2014. It was later remodeled into a hotel in 2018. The establishment's name is a direct reference to Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan), which devastated the central Philippines in 2013. ABS-CBN News reports that the hotel's owner, Mr. Yu, chose the name "Haiyan" to ensure people remember and acknowledge the event. The restaurant, while now part of the hotel, is known for its dishes like crispy pata and bulalo, and remains popular among tourists.
