I've always liked older and vintage mounts, especially the ones that have been around long enough to have a little history behind them. Some just need cleaned up and touched up. Others need a lot more work. Every restoration is different, so I price each one based on what needs to be done. If you've got an old mount that's looking a little rough, send me a few pictures and I'll take a look.
1950's red fox, this is in an in progress picture with new epoxy around the eyes & lips. We also added a rock pedestal for him to sit on as his original habitat was lost to time.
Here, this is the finished restoration of that same fox. As you can see we groomed the pelt, applied realistic paint and gave him a new habitat. We kept the "wide-eyed" look as that was common in the era he was originally mounted.
Pricing Information
Because every mount is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the size of the animal, pose, and other options selected. Pedestal mounts incur an additional $50, open-mouth mounts add $200, and habitat displays are priced separately. If you’ve harvested an animal that isn’t listed in our pricing guide or have something specific in mind, please reach out. The prices listed reflect our standard mounts, with adjustments based on the size of the animal, your chosen pose, and any habitat work involved.
If you’re unsure what would work best for your piece, I’m always happy to talk it through with you. We can discuss your options and figure out what makes the most sense for the animal and the finished display.
Payment & Pick-Up Terms
Tamwood Taxidermy currently accepts cash payments. A 50% deposit is required at the time of drop-off, with the remaining balance due at pick-up.
Once your mount is finished, we kindly ask that it be picked up within 30 days of the completion date. This helps us keep enough space available for incoming projects and ensures that every customer's work can be properly cared for. After 30 days, ownership of the unclaimed mount will transfer to Tamwood Taxidermy. At that point, the piece may be repurposed, sold, or otherwise used at Tamwood Taxidermy's discretion.
