Research Summary: I use Ca and Sr isotopes to reconstruct marine biogeochemical cycling across the Devonian–Mississippian climate transition, and Re–Os geochronology to evaluate the timing and synchroneity of the Hangenberg biotic crises. I also investigate whether volcanic or hydrothermal activity and associated environmental changes contributed to the emergence and diversification of the Ediacara biota following the Gaskiers glaciation.

Research Summary: Exploring in-situ frictional properties of earthquake materials utilizing high speed bi-axial deformation, with implications for seismic hazards.

Research Summary: My research investigates the physical and mechanical properties of ocean sediments using machine learning with implications to slope stability.

Secretary: Jackson Gomersall

Research Summary: Jackson is investigating the geometry and kinematics of the Incapuquio Fault System of Southern Peru. Methods include field mapping and cross section creation, U-Pb zircon geochronology, and (U-Th)/He zircon thermochronology.

Social Chair: Joseph Larbi Awuku 

Research Summary: Joseph's research focuses on hydrogeology, environmental geology, contaminant and water resources management. His research employs both numerical and geochemical groundwater modelling to investigate the transport of arsenic and fluoride in aquifers.
